Great and detailed video. Did the oil change today to my Cayenne Turbo without any issues.

Seems pretty easy and straight forward with the added bonus of using the air suspension instead of a jack/jack stands. And agree 110% with having a spare drain plug / crush washer on hand at every oil change, especially when they require a hex key vs. a regular bolt.

Thanks man..u saved me about $500 for a oil change at Porsche of North HOUSTON. Thats what they charge me the last time...do it myself now

You should put jackstands or wood blocks at the jacking points. What if the airbags deflate or the car decides to move to the low setting? These systems sometimes have a mind of their own. Low probability, HIGH potential severity. Another tip. Hold the oil jugs on their side when pouring, not "lengthwise". This way they won't "glug". You don't even need funnel.
@miketurco52826 жыл бұрын
Extremely unlikely on this car, the Cayenne is very sensitive to issues with the air suspension so it would warn you if something was wrong.
@ravi2707836 жыл бұрын
Another tip in addition to the Jack stands is to put the suspension to lock/service mode., so the system doesn't do any accidental level adjustments.
@gregs_garage6 жыл бұрын
would it tell you to get out from underneath before getting crushed?
@gregs_garage6 жыл бұрын
very true. I like to have a fail safe. I have huge wood blocks I put under mine just in case. manual fail safe. If the German gods don't like you the wood will save you.

There's a way you can lock the system. I think you have to pull the lever and hold for 3 seconds or something.... kzbin.info/www/bejne/kKuvZ2OemNCKm68

Hello, only for information, the 4.5l V8 engines have 2 oil drain plugs! You should also solve the rear, there is also about 1l oil out.
@CarFanatic5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for pointing that out!

I can't seem to find that 2nd drain plug. Any pointers on where it is? Thanks

Awesome demonstration! Just want to know: do we need to reset anything on the car computer after the oil change?
@e.mcclain11716 жыл бұрын
Good video, but I agree with Greg's 100%.... Safety first, Always use jack stands.
@GoldenCroc3 жыл бұрын
Old comment, but from it, I have to wonder: If the cars suspension might collapse at any time, necessitating jack stands , wouldnt that be an issue that would be more prudent to fix first, rather than changing the oil?

Hy, in the 9PA Cayenne (4.5 Liter V8) there is a second drain plug a little back up to the rear ...
@CarFanatic8 ай бұрын
That's right for your specific model and year.

Nice tutorial. Try a fluid evacuator, like Mightyvac. It drains the oil much better, faster, and it's way cleaner.
@OverlandTT4 жыл бұрын
They fluid evaluators are not recommended as its a dry sump lubrication system so it's unlikely to get to the bottom of the sumps.

Great video! Do you plan on creating videos for changing the differential and transmission fluids, or replacing the fan blower motor?
@CarFanatic6 жыл бұрын
+Motors, Megabytes, & Mods I may do one on the differential fluid, but the transmission fluid may be too difficult for a diy. As for the fan blower motor, I don't have any issues, so not at the moment. Thanks for watching!

According to Porsche one can use either 5w40 or 0w40 for Cayenne. 0w will be more for very cold part. I know there may not be definitive answer. Any particular reason to choose one vs other?

Ok great video but you ask 30 torx but the display shows 25 torx, lastly it is Zero - 40 not “O” Besides this how do you loke your Turbo, I hope to be a proud owner of a 2016 958 in 2, (Two) days .

Most Porsche owner rave about liquid moly oil as it is German! and more suitable for turbo engines. Not not sure how one can tell. Some people talk how engine runs smoothly or less to no oil burn. Have you experimented with liquid moly oil? BTW do you still own cayenne? It must have been now 5 years since you made first cayenne video?
@acorn17442 жыл бұрын
Did you try liquid molt engine flush or Cera tech products? Or liquid moly fuel cleaner?

Nice tutorial In my turbo I am using Motul Xcess 8100 5w40 (as recommended by motul for our cars) Would love to see a fluid change for the PDCC and power steering, as mine is due this year (if it is even possible to do it at home, as I think only the dealer can effectively purge the system)
