@@samsherrington7423 i think that its just because people are used to games catering to low attention spans - short periods of exposition, followed by action action action for the next hour or so - i like death stranding because imo its more a "great journey" game than an action game (imo its sorta supposed to be watched like a movie rather than played in a traditional way) - it is to most videogames what the LoTR books are to LoTR: shadow of mordor

I played through first few hours of DS, and whatever people say about the game as a 'walking sim', there is not a single person who didn't shit themselves at the first BT section at the incinerator after your mom died. Every single time you're in the time rain and that little claw on your back starts clacking when you enter BT territory, its genuinely fucking terrifying. Rest of the gameplay could be completely shit, I wouldn't care, the fear instilled in you by being hunted by INVISIBLE monsters that can hear your literal breath and will rush you if they catch you, is amazing gameplay. Mix that with very limited breath holding, being unable to sprint because they can hear you, and the stress of watching your cargo degrade in the rain, it's great and scary at the same time.
