Thanks to this video. I now have the black & grey versions of this hoodie. They are really warm up to -20C. I put on a washed duck Sherpa-lined coat on top during the -40C cold snap. Works well. Again, thank you.

I have the older version and yes it's a very warm, tough and rather lightweight hoodie. I work as a blacksmith too so I'm around sparks and metal dust all the time so I wash it often and it's held up rather well.

Looks like a great item except for the fact it is a carhartt. I've had zippers fail on their jackets more than once in a short period of time.

Agreed. I think the brand is overhyped at this point. My gut feeling is that at one point (probably when they were all made domestically) they were exceptional jackets. But now it's really hit or miss. I have a love/hate relationship with their stuff-- it really depends on which piece you're using. Some of it is fantastic, some of it is bullshit.

I see that you have the Sherpa liner and the quilt liner,I’m trying to decide between the 2..which one do you think would be better...they are both roughly the same price

Thanks for your comment. Definitely the sherpa lining. 100%. Just keep in mind that the arms don't have the sherpa lining. Still one of the warmest hoodies without upgrading to their arctic fleece-- which kinda has it's own issues.

I'm not familiar with that one. Just keep in mind that for the same weight at puffy combined with a durable shell will be considerably warmer. These Carhartt hoodies are good for kicking around camp when it's not too cold or if you're doing light activity.

It's decent for what it is, but if you're going to be in a high wind environment then you're going to want to put a soft shell on top of it.

Do the pockets have the Sherpa lining also or are they just another layer of the outer material sewn onto the outside like most of their sweatshirts? They should make the pockets on the inside of the fleece I think!

how tall are you?, im about 5'10 or 5'11 and the large seems a little big for me and a large is what i run on sweaters or jackets. I think i could have gotten away with a medium, Im wondering if wash it in hot water and dry on med heat if it will shrink it a little bit?

@@hardcorecampinggear unfortunately i already ordered and received the large thinking it will fit fine and didn't feel like sending it back to exchange it so i will see if it will shrink a little after a couple of washes. It is a really warm zip up hoodie and exactly what i need since i work at a grocery store and have to go inside the freezer or cold box and working in the back receiving area does get cold. The hoodies my store sells with the store name printed are thin cheap crappy hoodies :/

How do the sizes run for the Rockland? I am usually in between Large and X-Large in other brands. Not sure what size to get.

Most of the Carhart stuff runs pretty large. I normally wear a large but for Carhartt jackets a medium.

You have had these sweatshirts for over 2 years. How is the shrinking, color fading, material durability, sherpa durability and the zipper holding up on this model? Also any advice on laundering?

No complaints. No failures. Haven't washed them a whole lot, but really nothing to complain about.
