Old Detroit jacket dominates the "new " Detroit ( old top pockets were like the "chore coat") . Top double pockets and a nylon quilted red lining that didn't act liker a swiffer, picking up animal hair, lint, dust.....

Something not mentioned here but worth a thought is that fleece wear down much quicker than canvas. The fleece might be warmer initially but if worn and washed a lot will loose its warmer advantage quickly.

I bought the Yukon active jack two years ago while searching for the warmest coat that I can find. They make a parka version of it also, but I can't imagine needing a warmer coat. I purchased mine because I was working on a car lot, and walking across that car lot in the dead of winter would chill you to the bone, but not with the Yukon active jack! The wind resistance is just as impressive as the warmth factor that the coat provides. I'm so glad I own the coat, but for Southern Illinois, it's definitely overkill!

Im a truck driver who may be in 60 degrers one day and below zero the next. Limited space for storing too many different jackets in my truck. A combo that has worked for me is a carhartt sherpa lined hoodie and a sherpa lined detroit Jacket. When the weather is too much i wear them both. Perfect combo for me. My jacket is 9 years old and still going strong. Im to the point of buying a new carhartt just because I want one lol. Seems like they never wear out and only get better.

I have a Yukon Extreme from like 15 years ago. It's THE warmest coat I've ever had. The wind doesn't get through either. I can only wear it if it's sub 20° outside. Just walking I start to sweat. It's that warm.

As a former retailer of the Carhartt WIP range in the UK I find these vids very informative. My association with this wonderful brand goes back over two decades however here in the UK (i’m in Northern Ireland) they are best known as a streetwear icon …while there’s a general awareness of the workwear heritage (more so recently as the European side has wisely been referencing it more) it’s very difficult to get the main line range here …in fact off hand I can’t think of anywhere. I’d love to get a walk around some of the US stores such as Dave’s New York etc…maybe someday. Thanks again.

Hey Carl! Your content is truly great and I've become quite the Carhartt fan! I live in PA and have HORRIBLE circulation despite working out daily and a healthy diet. I would absolutely love a video on gloves and socks. Truly high quality, warm, well made socks and gloves, although I know you don't deal with anything less! Keep up all the great work!

I've found for warm socks, the carhartt winter socks have been the best for me. My dad also swears by them and he works outside in Northern Saskatchewan during winter. I'm not sure their official number but they are white and gold. Or you can get heated socks, gloves and insoles as another option

I wear Darn Tough through and through. They are super high quality merino wool, made in america, and have a lifetime, no questions asked, warranty. (Although I bought 14 pairs about 5 years back and still haven't had any holes or problems). They come in a variety of weights, but the full cushion boot sock is my favorite. For gloves I currently use either the Filson merino wool gloves or the vermonter from Vermont Glove Co. , the latter being made in america and fitting my work wear needs.

What's your healthy diet? Grilled chicken and greens? I'm born and raised in Sicily. Which is basically north Africa, it's hot pretty much year round compared to North East, I'm in New York, and I don't have problems with cold weather and circulation, but I also eat red onion salads, fish and occasionally organ meats, which I'm told are all good for circulation. If.you don't already eat those, maybe give them a try.

I live in mid west canada. I work out in -30c at times but I don't want a jacket that is to heavy. My father has the tradition from 2000ish era and his is a size large tall yet he is only 5'9"ish 190lbs and it fits him well so I'm wondering if they changed there sizing over the years or his just shrunk being washed so much in 20 years. As I have a different Carhartt jacket that is a large tall from 2019 that is way to long in the arms for me.
