You completely ignored the Honda's timing belt, direct injection, and yet another new transmission. While Toyota stays with bullet proof timing chains, combination direct injection on top of port injection eliminating the carbon buildup problem, and very well proven Aisin transmissions. These things don’t matter if you trade in 2-3 years. But if you buy at 80k or more and plan to run to 250k, these are very important factors.

The RX is a much better car in nearly all respects. Actually my dad dropped me off at RSW airport yesterday (Fort Myers) and I noticed how much more intuitive the navigation system and central console was. The map is very dynamic and has three parts, the left side shows current on route close up, the right side shows on route overhead zoomed out and the center display shows the next few turns and mileage and pertinent info. When you stop at a light, the left and center screens become your front and surround cameras while the right screen overlays your on route navigation directions. Try that on the 2022 MDX…. Acura had years to get things right in their new flagship and failed in several critical areas.

For those who dislike the timing belt in MDX vs timing chain in RX: timing belt makes no noise, engines sounds smoother than with chain, while chain makes some noise, and with time the chain expands a bit causing the drop of performance a bit too. The cost of changing timing belt every 100K miles is negligible comparing to the car price, also the fun and pleasure driving MDX worth much more than the cost of the belt. Changing the timing belt is not a complicated procedure, but standard for ACURA's and does not cost that much. I test drove several RX's and after I drove one 2022 MDX I fell in love with it, and finally bought it.

Nice 👍 I have a question 🙋♂️ Fuel economy you said:( 1st you pa for hybrid $-12-15k And Until you pay off that you need a new battery $-6-8k and then electric motor $-6-8k sow how it’s more efficient ? you never return that money back so actually you lose more money 💰 LOL It’s just a mat motor vehicle they try to rip off custom :( or dumb people can calculate they say more efficient :( I had 1st car 2003 Acura CL typeS manual 2nd car 2005 Acura RL Super Hendley 3rd car 2013 Lexus RX350 50/50 their customer service is not good :( Warranty sucks they rip off customers :( Not the way people say it’s a quality my brother had a Lexus twice rebuilding the engine & my mom had a Lexus transmission went out :( So I went back to Acura Just ordered 2022 Acura MDX Advance super handling , liquid carbon outside color and espresso interior :)

Please Compare Acura RDX bs Lexus RX350 in terms Luxury , Value and Reliability. In my opinion RX350 is more comparable to RDX instead MDX due to volume/cargo capacity.

Mdx for sure it's not even close. If u want reliable dinosaur get the Lexus,if u want a reliable, modern, sporty and full with features get the mdx
@88hemoglobin3 жыл бұрын
Sorry but Acura is not reliable with its limp mode issue (I say this as someone who experienced limp mode with my rdx on the highway). I’ll take a reliable dinosaur, at least it won’t stop in the middle of the highway. Or make a loud popping sound every time I drive over the slightest incline. Maybe the Lexus infotainment system won’t crash/lag/freeze so frequently as the acura. And just how modern is the mdx without a touchscreen? In 2021?!

I have a 2013 RDX and it has been a wonderful car. I really like Acura and want to stay with them. The 2022 MDX sounds great, but I think it is time to consider hybrid and electric cars. I don't know why Acura removed this option in 2022.

I have a 2016 RX450h that replaced the 2006 RX400h that got totalled while parked. They both have CVTs. I like the LRV like shiftless drive. Some like paddles and gear shifting. The 2006 was peppier and I like the ride. I have gotten used to the 2016 ride. Too taut for me. The 2006 had about 70K on it. The auto body shop bought it from me. The 2016 hasn't reached 20K yet. Acura turns up its nose at Hybrids before and now after briefly offering them. I can still remember the Honda Insight. I do city driving and a lot of idling. Back when I would drive for weekends between Boston and Montreal, carrying a traction battery isn't that helpful...there is electric assist up the hills, and regeneration down the hilly terrain. And now there is a V8 gas Tesla...convert a Tesla Model S into a combustion-powered sedan with a Chevy Camaro V8 hiding under the frunk! Yes frunk. Frunk is a popular portmanteau of front and trunk referring to cars that have their storage spaces in the front rather than in the rear.

Does Acura MDX has or will have Hybrid ?
@mrgold3591 Жыл бұрын
The only MDX hybrid was the 17-20 MDX Sport Hybrid in tech or Advance trims. It was a performance hybrid, not a mpg hybrid. It had 3.0L PI V6 engine, 3 electric motors, 7DCT, 321hp/289tq, regen braking, tq vectoring, electronic dampers for comfort or sport mode, under 6 second 0-60 times, 425-450 mile range with the 19 gal gas tank, could take 87-93 octane, and mpgs in the 25-27 city and 26-28 hwy range.

I went with 2022 lexus with options price was 51,500 the 2022 base mdx was 56+ 3k market adjustment fee. ive seen pilots and highlanders selling for the same prices my gut tells me when 2023 rx models arrive add it with options they are going to be selling for 60k.

Lexus RX 350 F sport for me
@partizanbgd01133 жыл бұрын
I am undecided between these two, and believe it or not, the new highlander as well. I prefer the seating in RX (same as Highlander 2017-2019) as it’s very deep, however, MDX seems sportier with the upgrader infotainment and that adjustable middle seat in the second row is a great feature. Although not as classy central consol (I personally find it nice), Highlander has great central screen, space usability, and I believe it shares the same v6 engine with the Lexus (perhaps Lexus’ engine slightly different tuning , better). I also heard Lexus will be redesigning the rx model but will it still have 6 cylinder engine? I like the handling on the mdx, but RX is not lagging behind with their smooths transmission. Can anyone shed some light, share their opinion, it would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

2022 is the end of the fabulous 3.5L V6. all 4 cylinder in 2023 suppose it won't be a 350 any more as that is why it was branded RX350- the 350 stood for 3.5 litre

Might have missed it but don’t forget to tell people that the Acura has a timing belt and not a chain so they will shell out over a grand every 80 or 90 k miles. I’ll take a chain over that every time.

The perfect car would be the RX350 with the MDX technology. Lexus and Toyota are so far behind Honda/Acura with the screens/ navigation/ wireless Apple CarPlay, etc. While the MDX is beautiful and sporty, I don’t think of sporty when I think of luxury, especially with an SUV. Test drove the RX and it is as smooth and quiet and luxurious as you can imagine. However, the screen in between my gas and speedometer is tiny and confusing. The only thing worse is the main screen which looks like I’m playing Super Mario brothers on an Atari. I ended up buying the Acura simply because the base model comes with everything I love standard. It has a fully digital and beautiful gauge cluster. Then the main screen is 12.3 and hi-res. Panoramic moonroof, wireless CarPlay. All standard in the base model instead of paying extra on the RX. The only thing I don’t like is the ride is a little harsher than the RX and not as quiet.

Over the years I leased 2 MDX, 2 BMW X5, and currently Lexus RX 350 F Sports. In terms of performance, handling, and luxury, the X5 has crystal clear advantage. But if you just need a reliable car to go to places, the Lexus is not a bad choice.

And if you need to enjoy snow just buy an acura mdx with sh-awd

Thanks, appreciate your reply. I love all the cars I owned, but in terms of 4 wheel drive, based on my experience, German and Japanese cars are totally in different leagues. I didn’t mention I also leased Audi, its all wheel drive leave the Japanese cars very far behind.
