@@caricanread I was a fresh 18 yr old and wanted a tattoo 😭😂 I genuinely loved this series in my teens, it was an obssessive thing for me. I encountered first book as a Harry Styles fan fiction online over 10 years ago. Somebody online had copy-pasted the first few chapters of the first book and changed the male MC's name for Harry, the fic was left unfinished. Months later I picked up this series at a bookstore, two chapters in I was surprised at the constant feeling of deja vu as I read. It took me about two more chapters to realise it was not deja vu, I had actually read that before. I still think about it once in a while lol

Everything was just COMPLETELY unreadable for me after that lolol. The first 4 weren't amazing, but at least some of the character's were likable then, like Nudge and Iggy. It got weird real fast. I read Angel when it came out and that was it for me, I gave up on it. I don't even remember what happened in Angel I just remember it feeling like a fever dream. Cari, you should try reading The Mediator by Meg Cabot. It was my favourite paranormal series growing up and even today it is a great teenage book. The main character is a girl whose job is suppose to help ghosts cross over to heaven, so she has to help them solve whatever is keeping them here on earth.

I blew through the first book in high school, started the 2nd and Patch pulled that BS of leaving suddenly and I was still pissed off from New Moon so I dropped the whole series right there. Now I’m glad I didn’t bother to read the rest 😂 Personally, I would adore it if you did one of these videos on the Fallen series by Lauren Kate (just the four main series books - Fallen, Torment, Passion, and Rapture- the extras aren’t necessary). I ADORED those books in high school and I reread them in my twenties a couple times.

Okay I haven’t started watching the video yet, idk if I’m emotionally prepared 😂 This used to be my FAVORITE book series…like I’ve reread AND relistened to the audiobooks so many times 🫣

It's really funny to be chilling and then suddenly hear you cringe at something dumb that a character said or thought, it feels like sitting with a friend. This is a comfort channel for sure.

Hi Cari! I do really really love your "walkthrough" these series - like mortal instruments, vampire academy... - I read this saga pretty late, like two or three years ago (I'm 24) I read the first book when I was a teenager but then I discovered City of bones and I competely forgot... I agree with you, this book series is so trash but I'm fond of trash and this means gold to me ahah So, yes, that's a trashy story but I really liked it because it made me laugh so much and I'm happy it made you laugh too! Greetings from Italy!

This is one of the first series I've ever read. As a teen, I was absolutely obsessed with it (and Patch), OBSESSED 😂 But years later, although I'm still fond of it, I see how unhinged and dramatic (and problematic) it really is. That's why, earlier this year, I sold my copies and let someone else enjoy them. Because I don't see myself rereading it, like ever, simply because I'm way too adult for that now 😂 (And if you enjoy it as an adult, good for you! It's just not sth that I see myself coming back to ever again, my TBR is way too long for that 😂).

This video unlocked several core memories 😂😂 If you're looking for more crazy YA fantasy series from the late 2000s/early 2010s to binge, you should check out the Blue Bloods series by Melissa De La Cruz!!! Vampires meets Gossip Girl, it was such a wild ride back then!

I remember picking up this book when I was like 15 or something bc the cover looked so cool. I bought it at a book fair, for which I used to save money every year, and I regretted buying it lol. I hated the protagonist so much! The worst of it all is that Nora thought that she was "not like other girls" but to 15 yo me she was?? Like I remember thinking that she was some sort of "popular girl", so to me she was a hypocrite. Also as you said, every character is just plain awful. Thankfully I borrowed this book to a friend and never saw it again, so it's no longer on my bookshelf lmao
