Prayers Jeffie Bear. My mom was type 1 diabetic, dbl amputee also. I was her caregiver. She went through physical therapy after her legs healed, was fitted for her prosthetic, and she was on the go again. You got this Jeff!!! The mental part was the biggest challenge She said was the hardest part for her. I hope the best for you and pray for strength, love and support. Best wishes and ❤ Jeff

It is typical about 3 to 6 months. But really depends on how fast the patient heals, and it truly varies by person.

Hey Jeffie...this is “Ol’ Scooter” from down in East Texas. I want you know I’ve been praying for ya and will continue to do so. When things settle out, y’all can start looking into setting up a van with all the mobility equipment you will need to continue your van life. I am a veteran who worked in the medical side of the military and lots of military veteran amputees have their vehicles set up with hand controls that replace foot peddles, etc. You can kick this thing in the butt...just take it one day at a time and keep the faith. The Lord doesn’t burden us with more than we can handle. Just stay strong! You got an entire “tribe” supporting you. Love ya Bro!

In life it's inevitable (almost a right of passage) that at some point we are going to need some help. Good friends are totally priceless and worth more than any other thing in life! Sending prayers. Here’s a story for you . When I was 18 I had my gallbladder removed. My roommate had her legs removed. She’s couldn’t sleep form pain . I couldn’t sleep from gas . So I pushed her around the hospital all night . I farted and she screamed . Then we would giggle. Sending 🐻prayers.🌞💜

Jeffie Bear, Just letting you know that they can do limb transplants for lower limb amputees. My brother lost both his legs after he stepped on a mine while he was serving in Iraq and I personally funded the transplant operation to give him new living legs from a donor. I am willing to help fund a transplant operation for you in the future if your require it so you don't have to live with fake legs. All is not lost but you will have to become a good diabetic and fix up your sugar levels beforehand if you want to become eligible for the operation. Take care, David Matherson
