I saw a picture on facebook about people who decorate early, stating that you never know why the person does need that extra bit of cheer. It could be someone who just moved out on her own and lacks the cozy feel of home, an elderly lonely person who can not wait to her family to visit, etc. I guess this is the earliest that i have decorated - i have lost my mom last month and i need every bit of cheer to pull through this first christmas without her. So if it makes someone mad, so be it. I live in Europe though so the tree doesnt come up until the 24th of December (sometimes we cheat a day), but advent season can not come fast enough :)

I know exactly what you mean! 2021 I was so excited for Christmas, my tree was up on the 1st November. I didn't really care what others thought. I brought me such great joy. This was the year when I invested in multiple garlands to go up the banisters on the stairs all the way up to the third floor. 2022 wasn't so good. It took me ages to feel festive. My tree didn't go up till the second week of December. I normally take the decorations down on the 27th. However last year, I left the tree and lights up leading up to new years. I just loved the lights on these long darker evenings. This year, I decided to put the tree and lights up on November 15th. I have a few decorative pieces around the house but the tree will be decorated in December. I could the kids next door shout, "Oh look at the tree! They have the tree up!" after his his football match. Bless him. I was sittjng in the lounge and heard it. It made me smile so much I will say, do what makes you feel happy. I love decorating and Christmas is a big deal for me. I want to see it for as long as I can Love from UK, Dennis x

Sending you a big hug , u I lost my mum on the third of December so we always decorate on the fourth , then we lost my brother in 2020 but his birthday was Christmas Eve so that’s hard last year I was in hospital in icu and we were painting and decorating we just about finished then my daughter and son in law decorated for us I’m determined to decorate in November this year decorate in honour of mum and brother and all others we have lost over the years , hope next Christmas things get easier for you xxxxxx

Less is more in my house!!! I just got our Christmas decor up yesterday, but will wait to do the tree and wreaths on the windows outside until after Thanksgiving. I use all muted natural colors in our decor and lots of tiny lights around some of the decor. Makes me happy!! ❤️🥰 My favorite Christmas movie has to be Elf!! It’s just so silly and what I feel like all children think about Christmas. Wholesome fun!!

PS, The only reason I have any feelings about you decorating early is because you take it down so fast after Christmas because you’re tired of it. And the only feeling it gives me is sadness, not anger! You do whatever makes you and your family happiest! I’ve found a few leaves and turkey things that I add to my pumpkin things in November to keep the fall decor fresh. But the moment Thanksgiving dinner is done, we watch a Christmas movie so my time is almost here!

Hi, I find a lot of people also don’t check the “weight limit” on command hooks either. The heavier your items, the more difficult it’s going to be. At the point where you’ve got something heavy, those command hooks are sold individually, and much more expensive. Sometimes if you can it’s just easier to make a tack mail sized hole in the wall.

@@elisabethivey5615 Yeah, I could see where you’re coming from. It’s sort of mutual, though - she ditches him for his brother at the same time. That makes the whole thing pretty implausible, and if it happened in real life it would be super bizarre and maybe slightly icky, but I thought it was well-executed. I don’t think I could have gotten on board if it wasn’t mutual, but since they both sort of come to the realization at the same time that they’re not the right fit for each other, I was happy for them that they wound up in relationships that made them both happier.

Just a word of advice with the lights on the headboard. I had a strand of lights plugged them in while draped across the couch and a wire was exposed and shorted out the strand and burned the back of the couch. Check and double check the wiring is ok. Your Christmas decor is lovely! 🎄🎅🏼🤶🏻🎁

I’ve had my dried up orange slices for close to 7 years, I do live in the North though where it’s rather dry but I’m thinking the fact that I have each slice tied together with a cinnamon stick helps prevent critters and mold to creep in, I reuse them every year and I’m thinking this will last me till my children finish breaking them before they go bad 😅
