I was born and raised and lived in America 80 percent of my life, and I will never understand how people wear their shoes that they were outside in their own house, on the sofas, on their beds! It’s always a shock to me. I either have house slippers or thick socks on :)

I was born and raised in Brazil, here it is common to use the same slipper to go out and stay at home (Not now in the pandemic). However, we do not usually use slippers / shoes on sofas or beds. I always feel agony when I see videos of people folding clothes on the bedroom floor. Although we are very "Cleaning Addicts" (Even with our personal hygiene, we take 1-3 baths a day and I see many foreigners saying that this is very strange). At least at my house, we sweep and wipe every day. But I believe that they are customs of each place / family. At my parents' house, we always clean the slippers with hypochlorite before entering.

I realize cultures are different. In mine it's same shoes inside and outside and usually Asian immigrants who practice no outside shoes. However the cleaning is different. I realise each to their own and this lady is a busy busy mom so she does what works for her. In my country if a mat is removable it leaves so you can clean the floor and there's always an older lady scolding if you are messy.

I’m with you on the shoes thing, except mine are those slippers that look like mules! They’re for inside only and I also have specific slippers if I need to do a quick run outside to get something. Any outside footwear don’t get past my entryway where I have a shoe rack because I realised that it’s so much easier to clean my floors without all the dirt from outside.

Carissa if I don't wear my shoes when I'm cleaning the next day I have so much pain in my feet, my doctor said because I wear boots my whole life when I was in the military not wearing my shoes my feet gets so bad, you keep wearing anything you want because is your house. I love your videos and they bring so much joy!!!!! I loss two of my kids last year they died and most of the time when I'm sad watching your videos make me happy and makes me get up and decorate and clean much more, you are inspirational so keep going. I also got the same carpet washing machine and I add softener to the clean water and at the end when dry the smell is amazing, tried it maybe you would like it!!! Thanks for your amazing videos!!

I am with you on needing to wear something on my feet while getting things done. For me it doesn't matter if it's a big project or simply cooking/ prep cooking especially because I have tile floors so my feet hurt way worse if I am not wearing something. Having house shoes has been a life saver!

I have a shark steam mop and I wish I got it a lot sooner. I love it. It cuts through grease and keeps my floors sanitized and looking good and the pads are washable. It made me realize mops just push around dirt. I highly recommended making the switch, you won’t regret it.👍

My favorite thing to do when cleaning windows is to use Rain-X on them that you normally use for car windows. I think it keeps them clean longer and I love to see the rain bead off them.

I purchased a steam mop last year (bissel) and I have never gone back to an alternative mop. It cleans the floors so much better, and you can add essential oils to the pad (don't add to the water) to add a scent, as long as it's a pet safe oil! I also use the lowest heat setting on our wood floors and have seen no warping over the past year. Also yes I wear adidas ultraboost while I clean lol I find if I don't my feet really hurt at the end of the day!

My mom wears special orthotic house shoes, but I had never been a house shoe person until now. I have plush carpeted stairs that are pretty slippery that I have slipped down many times before, and now that I am pregnant I am terrified of falling down the stairs. I now have a pair of old ugg moccasins that I washed for indoor use and just use them on the stairs and sometimes on the first floor since our downstairs is a little chillier than I would like. Having that traction makes all the difference when having to waddle up and down, especially when I am carrying stuff too.

Get the bissell crossover. I have mostly laminate in my house and it vacuums and mops at the same time. It's a life saver. I don't have to sweep or vacuum before mopping!

I have a goodmans 10 in 1 cleaner. It can be a mop or handheld it has so many attachments for different purposes. You can also use it for steaming clothes/ curtains as well. Plus the pads you put on the mop are washable so it’s a lot less wasteful than speed mops and things like that x

First off, I love both of your channels! Your family is adorable. I find myself copying some of the activities you do with your kids. I have the Shark steam mop and it is amazing. You don’t have to buy any cleaners because it only needs water and the pad is reusable. It cleans everything off so easily, even stuck on foods my kids drop.

I use a steam mop and I swear it’s a game changer! So much easier to mop the floors day to day plus all you need is distilled water and if you want a scent we just put a few drops of essential oils on the pad itself since you don’t want to put anything other than water in the tank. We have the shark steam mop I think it’s about 60 bucks on amazon

The micro fiber cloth you have is similar to one I just bought. Although mine is meant for washing fruit and vegetables with the rough side and polishing them with the other. I have no intention of polishing my produce but it does a great job washing them. I think I'll get a few more and try them for cleaning.

or in the sink with the sprayer for the air duct cover......you just have to do the bottom half of each side - flip it over do the other halves - so the water doesn't go all over the counter - much easier than vacuuming! I use the duster attachment on my vacuum for louvered furnace intakes. I have a steam mop, and have used one for a very long time. I LOVE mine steam machines. They are beautiful. Hand held steam machines are truly the bomb 💣 though.

I remember using that Swiffer duster when I worked as a pharmacy tech and I really hated it because while it was useful for quick surface cleans, it ended up just moving dust around half the time, so when I'm somewhere I can do laundry I only use a washcloth and a drying cloth and that way I can reuse them to clean as many times as I want so it's good for the planet :)

Get a steam mop! I have a smart living mop, for about 5 years now. Works great. You can use only water, or mix water with a little vinegar. I don't wear shoes in my house, I have slippers with a rubber sole. Or, I like to go barefoot, so I can feel how squeaky clean my floors are...LOL

No thoughts on a steam mop BUT I bought the Bissell Spinwave Cordless (if cords don't bug you they have a corded option) and seriously people sleep on this mop! It is amazing. We live in base housing so the floors are so cheap and difficult to work with. The Spinwave does all the heavy lifting so I haven't had to scrub anything since getting it, which has been 4 months now. I use the lavender Fabuloso with it and it works just fine. If you're in the market I highly recommend it.

For mopping, if you don’t want to go the steam mop route then I highly recommended the Moppsy! It’s compact and easy to use but does a good job and doesn’t tend to leave a lot of streaks. I’m obsessed with it

House shoes when cleaning are an absolute must....it prevents stubbing your toes and breaking a toe if it gets caught on furniture....also protects your feet if you are lifting items up that can be dropped on your toes, small objects falling from height absolutely hurts to capacity if the object falls on your toes or feet, house shoes prevent slipping, and also keeps your feet clean from all the dust, dirty water etc....House shoes are a total must when cleaning !!!!!!!
