No one will ever sound as good as Carl Anderson and Ted Neely together. Much love for this.

I saw them in the late 90’s live. Both Ted Neely and Carl Anderson were in it. After all those years they were both amazing. But, c’mon Carl Anderson was the feature for me and believe me he delivered. Absolutely incredible experience to see them live.

Carl Anderson was my favorite singer in this musical Jesus Christ superstar. I am sad he has passed away . I saw another singer play Judas and it was ok nobody can sing like this. I was 18 when this album came out and played the record so many times as I loved the singing and message. I can hear this song another million times as he was a musical genius.

I was at least 4 years old in the mid to late 70’s when I was already a fan of this musical. My love for this has never left me and there’s a need to revisit just how wonderful this musical is at least once every two or three years of my life. I’m almost 50 years old and I’m proud to say my mom (RIP) introduced me to this at such a young age.

Man, I was born in 2002 and I love “Jesus Christ Superstar” rock opera generally and this song in particular. I can even say, that is the best rock opera that I heard in my life! Yet this song is not my favourite one from this beautiful show - “Simon Zealotes/Poor Jerusalem” I like better. When I was 15 we played this rock-opera in my school. I played the role of Judas. And one more fact about me: I am Russian…

This song.....Carl Anderson's voice....the location they staged the song.....AWESOME! The death scene with Judas is also super powerful. I love the movie. More than the stage performance. I was 11 when it came out. I am an atheist, but this was more a dramatic story telling than a religious lesson. Interesting that Pontius Pilot, in the movie, demonstrated sadness and pity in his role iat having to crucify Jesus.
@steelekeepinitreel4909 Жыл бұрын
Don't forget, after he 1st found nothing wrong, the church elders lobbied for Jesus's death so he sent him to King Herod to be judged as Jesus was from Galilee and fell under Herod's jurisdiction. Herod had previously ordered the death of John The Baptist .He wanted to finally see Jesus perform one of his miracles , but alas ,Jesus declined so Herod sent him back to Pilot..and the rest they say , is history !

@@seansmith4880 Naw, I'm good. I can't watch or listen to anyone else sing these songs. I've tried ! I never liked how they changed the uniforms of the soldiers in some of the revivals to almost Nazi looking. I remember seeing Sebastian Bach , playing Jesus, and I couldn't get past the way he wailed. I'm also not a fan of John Legend. To me he sounds like a lounge singer.

@@steelekeepinitreel4909 I get that. On the other hand, I see you missing out on the absolute brilliance of the 2012 tour. Trust me on this. Judas held the money in a purse . Jesus' was close to Peter John and James. All matured except John sent in to exile. Wrote revelations with inspiration of God.
@steelekeepinitreel49092 жыл бұрын
Jesus was real close to Judas as well. What he did was heinous ,and goes down as the worst betrayal in history , But according to the apocryphal " Gospel According to Judas", They were close like a Rabbi and his pupil. Getting more insight into why things are ,how things work. The 1st 4 Gospels are being told by the disciples who did not have this insight , only hatred for the act and decades later , so much that 2 of the 4 opening chapters never mention what happened to Judas afterwards.
@robinbeerman47262 жыл бұрын
There is not a gospel according to Judas. There were 2 Judas. Judas of Iscariot was the outsider and the one that betrayed Jesus
