I love most of his material but have to skip a few minutes here and there while he jokes about his family. It triggers me. There is an obvious undercurrent of abuse from his childhood, and I suspect he plays that down and turns it into something humorous. Many of us were raised this way before 'gentle parenting' was a phenomenon. His parents sound like meat and three veg battlers who disciplined their kids by using fear.
