@@amosamaralmarao7846 I made a comment under a Tik Tok showing Randy Roads playing the Crazy Train Riff with Tommy Aldridge in drums. I didn't mention anything about the Riff. All I said the Drummer is the Great Tommy Aldridge. I saw him with Black Oak Arkansas. Also Black Oak Arkansas may have had the best Rhythm Section in the Business back then. Aldridge is my favorite drummer that his last name doesn't start with a P. Not in this order because they all were so good is Paice, Palmer, Powell said Peart. Bonham was good but I think everyone I believe the Drummers I meantioned was better but that is just my opinion. Everyone has a opinion. The thing is the Drummers were like the Guitarist at this time. All those guys were damn good.

Same thing with Billy Cobham to me he was the most powerful speed drummer of the 70s and the band he was in mahavish orchestra wow couldn't be touched oh and you know they used to open up for ELP in the early seventies that's how good they were they wanted that band to open up for them

In 2006 I was shocked to see him billed in our local venue.... Sherbrooke in Quebec Canada is not a big city and it was totally unexpected! I got tickets for the show and at the intermission, they were selling drumheads that he was going to autograph. I thought "Screw it, I can do one better!" so I ran out to our rehearsal studio just 2 blocks away and fetched my Ludwig maple snare. At the end of the show, I was waiting in line with my snare under my arm and people were actually letting me pass in front of them to make sure I could get it signed. What a wonderful show that was!!

I was a drummer way back when. I remember the lead guitarist in our band said " Your 3/4 of the way to being John Bonham". I took that as a great compliment. However I wanted to play like Carl. So every day after college I practiced. Brain salad surgery, After hands hurting and ears exploding in my head phones. I felt I was 3/4 of the way to Carl?. I would go to gigs with our band at local bars and play cover music. 1976, Silly love songs by wings.Etc. ??? It was money? Then go home late night and practice, ELP. Now being a old old man I am glad for what I learned from these greats.Carl, Bonham, Who I met at the riot house, Los Angeles. , Steve Gadd and Ian Pace.What they thought ME. I no longer have the CHOPS. "OLD AGE". I do have the ears and the memories. Remember. ROCK AND ROLL NEVER DIES. THE REAL MUSICIANS, JUST GET BETTER WITH TIME. AND, THE NEW OTHERS ARE GREAT WITH, AUTO TUNE.DAW's and GROVE CLIPS. IT all is great .ROCK and ROLL. ALL YOU FOLKS ENJOY WHAT WE ALL HAVE ACCOMPLISHED.REMEMBER OLD MUSICIANS NEVER DIE. I'm 65 years old and believe me I felt the same way about Carl. Then I would have to go to clubs and listen to Bubblegum or I should say pop rock and request Emerson Lake and Palmer to which I was told they would need about 10 times the equipment and 20 times the talent to pull it off. Had the pleasure of seeing him perform live when he was with Emerson lake and Palmer in 1976. He's an incredibly powerful drummer and he plays with great finesse. He's not a jazz drummer though but he's definitely a good one of the great rock and roll drummers.

I saw ELP February 22nd, 1974 in Tucson. A show never to be forgotten!! I have some good photos that I took before the show of his stainless kit, and Keith's keyboards & Moog console. Walked right up to the stage and snapped them with my little Kodak, and they were later enhanced by a gentleman who had a website dedicated to ELP! 🍻👍 If the site still exists, my photos can be found there. I think they're posted in the section where the site owner has the tour dates listed.

I saw the Emerson Lake and Palmer Brain Salad Surgery tour St Louis Kiel Auditorium 1974. What a treat the flying piano the rotating drum set and drum playing like I have never seen before then or now. In 1976 I watched Journey Open up for ELP. Ansley Dunbar as most people probably know is an unbelievable almost Godlike progressive rock drummer because Journey were considered progressive rock back then. I was with the buddy of mine after seeing Ansley Dunbar play he said there's no way Carl Palmer is going to be able to beat him and I have to admit Ansley Dunbar put on a hell of a solo as well as the show. He had never seen Carl before and I told him just wait till Carl Palmer comes on and you'll see. And sure enough walking out of the concert he told me you're absolutely right he even blew Ansley Dunbar away. Now that was some night of drumming that was also k i e l Auditorium St Louis.
