Frozen shrimp takes 10 minutes to defrost. Anything they have in the case would be thawed from frozen and sitting out making it less fresh. You can have them thawed in a metal bowl before you can even get out your cookware and ingredients together to make the dish.

15:00 Glass lids. No, the condensation condensates and drips so that you CAN see through the glass. I get rid of all my metal pan lids and use glass for this purpose. I can see what I need to see instead of releasing heat unnecessarily to check.

Okay you’ve convinced me! I will attempt to like squid! I’ve learned to be cool with fried calamari, but I’ve always shied away from squid in other dishes. I didn’t grow up eating seafood, so it’s been a journey. I love most fish, and like the flavor of most shellfish… but the texture of shrimp is horrifying to me. I’m hit or miss on clams/mussels. But I haven’t really given squid a fair shake.

I’ve watched you long enough now that I’ve seen you brace for winter several times. I’m so sorry it’s such a hard time for you.
