The way I see it is that Ed would have known the stone was down there with him and could have asked the chimeras to find it but he didn't simply due to the fact that Ed is against using the philosopher's stone

@@drewpocernich2540 My take on this is, when he used one to save his (and Ling's) lives, he was against making a Stone but not yet against using one already made (just before that he was arguing with Mustang and Ling about how to use Glutton's Stone). But that's because he didn't know yet that the souls trapped in the Stone were potentially still sentient. When he used part of Envy's Stone to get back to their reality, that's when he learnt that the souls were maybe still there, from that point on he refused to use one for his own gain.

I really like that you guys mentioned ed's resourcefulness and how he doesn't sway from his ideals. It's one of the things I love most about Ed as a protagonist. He could be solving so many of his problems easier if he was willing to kill people, and even as a dog of the military there's many who would say he'd be justified in those actions too. But Ed consistently doesn't, and it causes him a lot of problems through consequences of not taking life - but he always finds ways to bounce back and take his punishment (and not whine about the punishment - he's aware)

I like how they fully confirm that Hoenheim is the guy who brought alchemy to Xing AND also POINT OUT that Ed and Al (sort of Al) are essentially the last 2 Xerxians this episode.
@senbujohns4489
@senbujohns4489 Жыл бұрын
Yes they are connected like that. If Ed dies, Al's soul will be pulled back into his body without being able to return. Ed is short because some of his nutrients are sent to Al's body so it doesn't die and decay. Same for why Ed sleep more than normal people, he sleeps for both.

I think it's also that it is only Ed's blood seal that keeps Al tethered to the armor, so if Ed dies, Al's souls disconnects.

About the stone laying next to Ed part, there a few ways to look at it. 1. Ed just wont use the stone unless he has zero choice, like going through truth to come back out real world. 2. He was pretty much in a "do now or die" moment, losing blood and temp, searching for a stone that might in reach pretty much not an option. If he faint and thats it, so pretty much he just go all in and do the thing that he has confident in.

Ed is probably my favorite anime protagonist. He is smart, brave, strong, talented, determined, moody yet kind -among so many other things. But, most of all, he is just a genuinely good person. His fierce love for his brother and his genuine respect for life are truly admirable. I love how he has his ideals and boundaries that he absolutely refuses to cross, even at great cost to himself. He recognizes that cost as reality and accepts it willingly. But, even though he tries to save lives when he can, he doesn’t come across as overbearingly preachy either. What I mean by that - even if someone acts in a way that he wouldn’t and does kill if deemed necessary (General Armstrong for instance), Ed doesn’t consider them a bad person for it. I just think he’s such a cool example of a person with a high moral compass who doesn’t judge others for holding to a different standard as his own.

I got a feeling that even if Ed found the stone, he wouldn't use it to heal himself. He still sees the souls as people, to use their energy would be killing them in a way. There was sadly, no other option when he was stuck in Gluttony's stomach
@SnowyWolborg
@SnowyWolborg Жыл бұрын
To be fair, at this point, he has already done it, so if it's a life or death situation, he has no moral reason to object to doing it again. Envy wasn't wrong when he said that Ed doesn't use logic to determine what a person is. The soul energy Ed used to free himself, Ling and Envy from the false Truth dimension _were_ just energy at that point with no hope of return. Al, on the other hand, actually still has sentience and a chance of returning to his human body, so despite the situations being similar, they weren't exactly the same.

it’s cool that they used the periodic table of ‘AU’ for gold in their term ‘Aurelian’ 🤓 and I think this might be the first ending that we need an Ange cover for 🤘🏻🔥🍻
@no-bark4112
@no-bark4112 9 ай бұрын
comment is old, but i figured i'd let you know the AU symbol for gold comes from the latin language. aurum: something made from gold. aurarius: something which is golden. aureli: a boys name, which simply means "gold". also, the suffix -an or -ian also comes from latin, and refers to a person from a certain place or sometimes a certain practice or job. so the name "Aurelian" would translate to something like "a person from the land of gold", or something very similar to that.

Hiromu Arakawa is a legend. I'm not sure if there's an explanation for this in Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, but in the first version, there was a reason for Ed being so small, and he also ate a lot compared to someone of his stature. He, in a way, was providing sustenance for Alphonse, who couldn't eat. It was an unconscious way of keeping his body alive. However, I'm not entirely certain if this is from the first version of the anime, as their endings differ significantly.

The thing is it doesn’t matter if the stone was there or not Ed wouldn’t not choose to use it regardless he sure not to use them the only time he had to is because there was 0 way out without the use of it but he would never want to even if it cost him some of his life he would have rejected using the stone and used his own life force.

Homunculus/Father and how he got into the flask is never truly explained. In that, all the series gives you is that the master that owned #23/Hohenheim used his blood to transmute Homunculus/Father into the flask. It's never specified how or for what purpose Homunculus was transmuted, or if his existence was a complete mistake on the part of Hohenheim's master or intentional. HOWEVER, if you pay attention throughout the series you get continuous hints (big and small) as to where Homunculus/Father originated from.

Even if Ed or the chimeras had found the stone prior to Ed saving his own life, Ed would never have used it. For the same reason why Ed & Al refuse to use a stone to fix their bodies. They won't use the life of another to erase their reckless choices, whether offering mercy or attempting human transmutation. It's likely the same reason Hohenheim didn't fully heal Izumi last episode, despite having the capacity to do so. With the immense power of his stone, Hohenheim could have given back everything Truth took from her. But he chose not to and only rearranged her insides to improve her health because, as he said, she has a greater purpose to serve. His reasoning for it is likely similar to Ed & Al's. Izumi's personal choices are what led her to getting her insides taken away, thus rendering her incapable of ever having children again and leaving her in a sickly state. Hohenheim seemingly would not use the souls within him to wipe away what is ultimately Izumi's sin. Perhaps he also considered how Izumi would feel if had used the souls of others to fix her mistake. I don't think Izumi would have approved either and likely would have been upset by it. Now that you have his past, you can start to see more of Hohenheim's character and his similarities to his own boys. Stuff like this is showing us a side of his mentality, personal code of ethics, and what he is or isn't willing to use the souls within him for.

In regards to the stone I am not sure if he would want to use it or not. Whilst he used a stone to escape gluttony’s stomach he was very unhappy to do so. To Ed and Al right now using a stone is the equivalent to using slave labour or sacrificing a life. It what I love I love most about them, they appreciate the costs of human life.
