As most cars don’t support multitouch they must no transfer this over if you car does support it. I know CarPlay doesn’t. So seeing as it needs CarPlay to function it probably gets blocked at that point.

Alright. I got one of these 8g, 128g. Everything seems OK. But, the maps and Waze work, but there is no nav sound. I checked all the settings, and everything looks OK. Any idea why?

I think there is a setting in Google maps that toggles the ability to send nav commands over BT audio. Maybe try that on/off

hello, I have a question. Can this dongle also be set to start Apple Carplay directly, or do you have to go through the android system ? With my Carlinkit 3 mini dongle starts Carplay directly

These work differently to wireless dongles. You can set apps to auto boot on most Ai boxes. So that would fire up the CarPlay app which would then auto connect to your phone. It’s not as fast as a wireless dongle which just has one task.

If you don’t see it’s interface when you select CarPlay on your car system then the dongle is either faulty or incompatible with your car system. Try to use it in another CarPlay vehicle to rule out these scenarios

I am having the following problem: With my phone turned off, when I turn on the car, the CalinKit CPC200 starts OK. But as soon as I turn on my Iphone, it takes control of the Apple carplay and knocks out the Calinkit. How should I fix it ? Thanks for your help

I assume you have stock wireless CarPlay system, or are you plugging it in?

Is your iPhone connecting to the system wirelessly or wirelessly on the CarPlay app on the CarlinKit? On the CarlinKit you can turn off wireless auto connect. Or on the system there should be an option to turn off auto connect or remove the BT profile for the car system.

With the 2019 Lexus LS 500 there isn’t a touchscreen but a touchpad. Can the AI box be setup on a PC or TV so the settings are ready once the box is in the car? I have a hard time sliding down when the box is connected to the car & KZbin is zoomed in way too much. It’s has potential but it is rough around the edges.

Try turning it on and off and it should pop up. Also try doing this with the maximise compatibility option on and off. Make sure the connections isn’t being shared with another device and make sure Wi-Fi is enabled on the adapter.

Hi. My car supports apple car play and android auto, both wirelessly. However, I would like to watch KZbin videos (and other streaming apps) while driving. Which one of these AI Boxes do you recommend? I'm looking forward to an ai box that runs fluid with no lags. And, by the way, do you know if it is possible to use simultaneously apple carplay (with ai box) connected by wire and android auto (with smartphone) wirelessly? I mean, I would like to use my cellphone through android auto (as usual) and plug ai box to watch youtube. Is this possible? Thanks.

So you’ll need a sim inserted for this kind functionality. The sim will give the android side internet for movie watching and the WiFi is free for use on with wireless AA.

Yes you can run it off a personal hotspot. The downside is you cant run internet for android apps and run wireless CarPlay or android auto at the same time.

MMB Max is next Friday’s video 🙌🏻 and the iheylinkit looks just the same as the Max. MMB leased their tech out to some OEMs who can rebrand and resell but some and future custom dashboard UI designs from MMB will not release on them apparently.

It’s more down to their CPU. If it’s the same and you’re not going to multitask or split screen, then the Android 11 with less ram will future proof you a little with apps from the store.

@@hmmmhmmm8327 I think you misunderstood. By Native App he means you install the Android apps on that device and use them from that device. So it'd have the same lag as running it from your phone and watching it on your phone. Android supports Netflix, KZbin, Plex so I don't see why it wouldn't download on it.

Is there a way to use the GPS postion provided by the car on this device? I got my hands on one, it is pretty slow (as expected) and stuggling to get a gps fix inside my car... Is there a way to change the soure of location data? (in google maps or waze...)

Usually in the settings menu for the android os there might be the option there or again in factory settings (code 126) you might see further options there also. It might not be so obvious.

Does your display have multitouch like this? Not many displays support multi touch in the same way a tablet or phone does. Using apps that you’re used to using on these devices doesn’t transition over to displays such as those in cars.

Hey! I need a very important information. In order for the AI box to display something on the Pioneer, it needs to "spoof" itself either as an iPhone with carplay, or an Android with Android Auto. Can you tell me if your Pioneer sees the dongle as an "iPhone" or an "Android"? My car ONLY supports wired Android Auto. But NOT Carplay at all. If this dongle spoofs itself as a wired Android Auto, it means I can use it and have carplay on my Android Auto only car!

Sorry I don’t know. If you don’t have a wired port for CarPlay I guess it won’t work. You need that at least. This works with a wireless CarPlay pioneer head unit.

This needs CarPlay to work so the tv or tablet needs to do that which is highly unlikely unless it’s a CarPlay standalone display. To do what you want to do you would need a dongle that works with android tablet but if you’re doing that you have the android os on the tablet and no need for this dongle 🤷🏻‍♂️

Hello, Do you know about the aftermentioned problem? --- TBox series, what happens when you use wireless Android Auto/CarPlay without SIM card? Some CarlinKit users, when using TBox series products, do not insert the SIM card that can provide network traffic, but connect the hotspot of the phone/other devices. Then, in this case, when using wireless Android Auto/CarPlay, Android system will have network problem. And the phone will automatically cut off the hotspot switch and keep the WIFI open to connect to wireless Android Auto/CarPlay. Specific performance: after returning to TBox menu/Android from wireless CarPlay/Android Auto, the Android system will appear to be disconnected from the network. Solution: TBox insert a SIM card that can provide network traffic. --- This seems a big problem to me. My sim must be in my Phone or otherwise I have to switch everytime I go out of the car.

Yes. Unless there is some kind of dual WiFi there isn’t much you can do about it other than use a separate data SIM in the dongle, or just go without and stay on one platform that requires the internet.

Bought this box over Xmas from Amazon UK. Used with my Kenwood wireless CarPlay DMX8019DABS. Set up was straightforward, already have wireless so just wanted it for the Android features, KZbin, Netflix access to the PlayStore etc. The apps worked but poor resolution compared to my normal CarPlay screen. Performance was super laggy with continual crashes. I found this box really frustrating, underpowered & generally not fit for purpose. Returned for refund.

The Tbox Mini11 isn't a great performer overall, it has one the lowest multi-core and GPU core scores in my tests.

It could be the various frame rates of the video and how they play back on the adapter which might be limited to 30fps.

Calls should go through the ai box phone app and the box doesn’t have a mic itself so it should use whatever is used for CarPlay or BT calling.

I bought the other android 9 version of carlonkit ai tbox. Tried gmaps and yt split screen, also gmaps & spotify split screen, all function well using my mobile hotspot. Also netflix, downloaded slingtv, running smoothly on android 9 version. All these pros, my cons is in the touch screen, it lags esp on android auto. Also when switching android auto to home menu carplay, it does not automatically switch to mobile hotspot, you have manually reconnect to mobile internet or wifi enabled hotspot.

This devices only works with CarPlay systems. No android auto. Once on the system you can then connect to the dongles BT to wirelessly connect to android auto.
