Beautiful, Carl! This would be a great goblet to spring on that guest that’s had one too many! 🤣

That's really cool! I like how you shaped the inside of the goblet first and then created the wall thickness.

Really neat, Carl. It's more like the out of the box I'm used to seeing from you. If I had a lathe, my turnings would look like that without trying! Take care. Bill

Awesome piece Carl. I remember seeing a video of yours where you turned an eccentric or off center; I can’t remember which it was lol; goblet and that inspired me to give it a try. I had only been turning for maybe 6 months at the time so I just glued up a couple pieces of 2x4 to give it a try. Well I kept that ragged looking chunk of wood that I took off of my lathe back then and have had it setting on a shelf in front of my lathe where I keep some of my attachments for my lathe since then, an addition to my wall of shame lol.

LOL Thank you so much Scott! I wish I had kept my wall of shame, but I didn't have any room at the time.

Very nice and great design for demonstrating this off-center process. I don't turn any more because I disliked the inherent symmetry on the lathe, but if I ever do I turn green to allow warping or do as you did here and do off-center turning.

Man, you clearly know what you're doing, but as a novice turner, i get nervous watching that thing turn off axis.
