Totally agree!! The more he gets out there in practicing speaking he learns the English pronunciation way. It will make him an even better bilingual. Listening to him, his accent is not so thick that I don't understand him. He is understandable, he's doing a pretty good job so far! Good job, buddy! Keep it up. His accent is so adorable. But talking more in English with others will make him an even better bilingual speaker. I do love the accent, it is endearing☺️ I think the challenge is that he approaches the English word with Italian way for which syllable gets the strong emphasis in multi-syllabic English words. But really doing such a thing, it's totally normal/expected for anyone whose native language is not English. They follow their native language patterns with the 2nd language sometimes.

I wish I could tell Carlo to never hesitate trying to say new/weird words and sentences because EVERYONE in the US just expects everyone to have some kind of accent. We can all barely understand each other anyways! I have to as kindly as possible ask people with stronger southern or black urban or texan accents to slow down when they talk to me, and sometimes we even have to resort to writing or spelling so we can understand each other, even though we're both native english speakers and write the same way. Basically it means no matter who you are in the US there will always be a chunk of people you will always find difficult to understand when they talk, and there will always be someone who will have an equally hard time understanding you too, so you should never feel nervous or embarrassed trying 😊

@Carlo and Sarah you can let Carlo know that im old enough to remember when the Mexican Pizza came out, and all of America's reaction was similar to his: "What on earth-!? What even is that?! Who THINKS of these things-!? That. Is. Not. Even. Remotely. PIZZA!" There was a very strong reaction all around lol. But it took off and became the icon that it is today. Still don't think of it as pizza in my mind; I call it the nacho dish.
