I worry about a world in which there are 700,000 people actually studying jazz, all of whom own computers, and 692,000 of whom have not watched this astounding performance. To mix metaphors: you can't wrap your head around this much nerve. Five tunes, cold from vocal? A true jazz instrumental bandleader who carries no axe to the gig? Indeed. Watch this woman's CBS JAzz Ahead feature - she drills kids into being badass back-time be-boppers! "Amazon": thrill as she defends the planet at 224 bpm

The drummer is the great Clifford Barbaro who is still alive and plays regularly at clubs in NYC such as Smalls, Fat Cat and more. He is one of my favorite drummers/musicians.

It's Charlie Parker greatest hits Medley. John Hicks was the best pianist Betty ever had, a great guy as well and I miss him.... Dennis Irwin did a great job as always (miss him too) and Clifford Barbaro is a very underrated drummer. He really knows how to play for a singer, (great intensity but not high volume).

All the songs in this medley had been recorded by Charlie Parker....it's a lovely tribute....

Ok planet we're up a solid 25 per cent on the eight thousand views....in here check again: the as-if-she-wrote -them lyrics read - plus the follow of the core melodies..with an ultra cool over-blow where Just Friends gets corny in line...Did he gaze, Mr Louis Armstrong from the ether upon this stage, and at the mic, his absolute ultimate product, as I understand this woman, Ms Betty Carter?

30 per cent more views. Ms Betty Carter demonstrating how to operate both hemispheres of the human brain - the only way this can be done as a heaa arrangement, off-book. Lead characters in drama don't also serve as the conductor in the pit - except for, here
