To me he plays nothing like Nadal, his forehand is similar to Federer. He is very aggressive like Fed too

He's forehand is nothing like Nadal. He hits a lot flatter. Nadal hits with a lot of spin. But the power in Alvarez's forehand is so effortless. I wouldn't be surprised if he's had some kind of boxing training.

@Ian Novak I don't know if hip genetics is a thing but I think maybe his build and height might have something to do with it. His low centre gravity helps him to get to the ball and plant those feet quicker as well as allowing him to turn quicker than tall players, combined with those broad shoulders and muscular arms.

@Ian Novak I see. I'm not an expert in genetics or bone structures, nor have I seen any of his medical profile. Indeed many coaches have offered up their own opinion on his power. But I do know boxers who develop power from their legs, hips shoulders and arm, through technique and conditioning even though they might or might not possess natural physical ability. IMO.
