Alcaraz is so exciting to watch. Zverev played well, but still couldn't make a dent in the Alcaraz blitzkrieg. To his credit, Zverev's footwork is so much better now than it used to be, particularly after that incident in the French Open 2022 semi-final vs Nadal when Zverev sustained a gruesome ankle injury as a result of incredibly clumsy footwork. In this match, Zverev's footwork was immaculate, but still not enough to defeat Alcaraz.

It still bewilders me that these professional tennis players haven't learned to deal with drop shots, even when they get to it. Zverev kept on hitting the ball right back to Alcaraz for an easy put away. The best strategy is to fight a drop shot with another drop shot, simply by dinking it right over the net. Of course, it is easier said than done, but that's why the pros practice daily.

Just because he doesn’t have a one handed backhand and plays his backhands with a slightly open stance more often than Federer does not take away from the fact that Alcaraz’s playbook is straight from Federer.
