I read these books when i was a teenager, hunting and trapping in the woods and fields of southern Maine. Reading them now, they ring even more powerful and true. This wisdom has been a guide to me for more than 30 years. It has the ring of truth. That Carlos Castaneda was an ordinary human being doesn't matter at all. He was transparent to transcendence.

If Carlos Castaneda actually met and learned from an Indian Shaman seems irrelevant. Either he did and wrote about his experience OR he did not and he wrote one of the most popular and philosophical stories of all times. The books have many lessons that all of us can learn, in an effort to improve our lives.
