In my public school system, they redefined the grading system. But they actually made it harder, not easier. D was passing, but a D was from 70-77. Anything less than 70 was an F. C went from 78-85. B went from 86-92. Only grades above 93 were A. So, when other school systems had D as passing, but the range for a D was from 60-70, a D was worth far more in my system. It was actually a C.
