--------
Comedian Carlos Mencia clarified comments he made in 2009 about New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. He claims he never made the controversial joke about black people not being able to swim. Instead, Mencia said his comments questioned the logic of building a city below sea level. He said he did include a version of the aforementioned joke in his act, but only because there were statistics supporting it at the time. The comedian also addressed a misunderstanding that led to being banned from a few locations. Mencia also discussed his relationships with fellow comedians, acknowledging that he may have unintentionally hurt others in the past due to insensitivity and a skewed sense of humor.

Yes because every comedian that has been accused of “stealing” jokes has come out and admitted to stealing jokes 😂. Amy Schumer was accused of stealing jokes, never once admitted to it and 3 years later she’s hosting the Oscars. The whole joke thief thing has just turned into a “let’s comb over this guy’s whole career and compile a laundry list of every time he came anywhere near even looking like he stole a joke”. Just shows how a powerful narrative can create a life of its own and dictate all truth. Fact is Rogan didn’t like Mencia and resented how people “fell for what he was doing”, and wanted to be the hero for his friends he felt to be slighted and wronged - in line with his natural disposition. It made him a pariah in the industry and a persona non grata as if he was touching kids. Yet many attached to the Rogan comedy troupe have seemingly been left untouched despite wrongdoings that equal or even far surpass repurposing jokes.

And you went to school to figure out this type of personality? I come to realize how privileged I am to grow up in an unprivileged environment. The streets teach you things that people pay tens of thousands to learn in an institution. I guess I went to “school” too, but I had to learn these traits for survival. To be able read a room is pertinent in all fields of life.
@Rondondemarco
@Rondondemarco 6 ай бұрын
@@NoLineNoWait123AbC Don't get it twisted or assume that I grew up in a privileged environment. I learned it in the streets too however the technical terminology assigned to my organic knowledge was amplified in the academia elements. It's not enough to be exclusively street 🛣️ smart, one must have book 📖 smarts and streets smart to perform at an optimal level in this corrupt world no matter what activities we embark upon. This is why it's troubling to witness the diminished IQ of the youth pushed in the drill rapper and other low IQ hip hop agendas. When I was coming up we had intellectual street individuals like PAC who could articulate, know history and was a damn scholar yet still came from the underprivileged environment of the streets like myself. Real Life is both like the streets and the school at the same time because it's political, albeit hood politics corporate politics or grand scale politics that determines our connects, networks and survival outcomes. What I learned studying Karl Jung and Sigmund Freud amongst others just amplified what I organically learned surviving the Southside of Chicago 🌆 my whole life. I have an abnormally high level of perceptive IQ naturally. I was told that by many teachers as a small child. Perceptive intelligence aka central intelligence is the most important part of survival in my life experiences. You can read all the academia books in the world 🌎 but if you can't identify a threatening personality type or a compromised circumstance that can hinder you, you will lack the skills needed for primitive survivalism. I'm not directly talking to you on this part just everyone who thinks that you can survive on pure books or pure streets alone. It's ☯️ in a way. I KNOW a lot of educated fools and a lot of poor uneducated very wise people.

I think the first time I really encountered Rogan was on the Opie and Anthony show with Patrice Oneal. They talked about the situation where Rogan confronted him very shortly after it happened. Ive seen a lot of media over the years sorta questioning how Rogan had such solid relationships with so many comedians from the jump. He rightfully earned a lot of love for standing up for his friend against such a popular comedian. Seeing the trajectory of both men since is crazy. One became a pariah and the other one of the biggest personalities on the planet. Good lesson in the value of character. For Mencia to act like he wasnt VASTLY more popular than Rogan (back then) or any of those other comedians is INSANE. I followed that group of comedians back then and none of them were close to as big as Mencia, though a whole bunch of them all overtook him afterward. He tried to be a bully and someone stood up to him. Very hard to feel sorry for him when he cant acknowledge that shit a decade later. Not like someone ruined his life anyway. Im sure hes still very rich. The universe just reset things to how they should be lol. Mans a pathological liar.

If he didn’t steal jokes, he’d probably be a somewhat respectable comedian. Carlos had plenty of original material. For example, he had a solid five minute bit about tattoos. Then he had to end it with “that butterfly is gonna look like a Pterodactyl one day” which is a classic Jeff Foxworthy joke.
