Man, Ferrari must have a clause in the contract to not criticise their team/strategy. I think that was difficult for Carlos to not be more critical because I think they did screw him on the strategy

For an F1 fan what you wrote makes sense, but then when you think that this guy can drive for the most iconic F1 team (yep, still), in the most prestigious class of international racing, having at least a shot at winning/getting a podium, and making millions per year, he shouldn't be very vocal about the problems Ferrari may be facing

Why is it that drivers and just many athletes just seem younger than athletes drivers from the past? Are the compwtitors getting that much younger? They just seem more childlike than prior generations.

i think it's down to 2 reasons: - they had a chance to race in go karts at a very young age already, i don't think it was that easy/commonplace back then; next F3, F2, etc. and so they have plenty racing experience by the time they join F1, a few years in F1 and someone like Sainz (28y) is then pretty much at his peak performance - advances in healthcare, nutrition, increased awareness about harmful habits, putting more emphasis on the appearance etc.

because 30-40 years, drivers in general were OLDER and wouldnt get into F1 before age of 25. nowadays you have teenagers coming into F1.

It's not just racing; this applies to other careers too. Most people born in the 80s and 90s had access to media like TV, which allowed them to find inspiration and motivation from those in the past. Learning outside of the traditional school system became more popular, and some parents supported their children's dreams and would rather help them become great at one thing. With the availability of information and accessible materials, children as young as three can take classes and build a career once they realize how much they truly want it. So, if a kid as young as 3 onwards starts dreaming big and turned out to have potential, then expect the parents will find way to help their child. The most supportive parents will pour time and money to help their kids succeed early in life. Many younger kids have succeeded in different areas of life. When I was probably in college, some kids as young as 8 were already an expert in one field, may it be in science, math, sports, robotics, computers, etc. Regarding racing, there are now more organizations and individuals who are investing in kids that have the potential to advance beyond karting and who may not have the financial means to do so. In the past, people would invest in anyone with obvious talent, but over the years, it has become clear that talent alone does not always lead to greatness. Sometimes, a kid with potential but has more passion for the sport, and will work hard and dedicate time into it pays off better in the long run.
