Thank you so much for telling your story and shedding some light on Diastasis Recti. I’m so happy you’re doing great and that both you and your baby are safe and healthy! My sister gave birth about 6 months ago and ended up developing Diastsis Recti with an 8 finger separation of her abdominal muscles. Shockingly it’s something a lot of doctors don’t shed light on the possibility of. She is now doing physical therapy to strengthen her muscles as much as possible because it’s hard to do daily activities like carrying her baby with the lack of control of her muscles. You’re not alone! Sending you and your family all the strength and happiness during your pregnancy and healing! ❤

We have 5 awesome kiddos and I was pregnant 4 years in a row. No one talks about how a woman’s body when they are pregnant back to back. So not only did I have babies close, I had very big babies (2 9lb babies, one 10lb and one 12lb!). After my 5th baby was 12lbs, my pelvic floor muscles were shot. My uterus prolapsed! It was so strange! I immediately call my OB and was told it’s normal to happen after having so many large babies and that I would fix itself! How amazing are our bodies! Women rock! People need to talk more about keeping those muscles strong!

You have no idea how much you talking about this means to me. With my 3rd (most recent) miscarriage, I felt like the doctors were rude and had no sympathy for me losing my child. And this video reminded me there are beautiful people in this world who care and will feel empathy and love for you ❤️🫶🏼 Thank you for sharing your tough times with us. You’re not alone 🩵

Alexa, I am so happy that when u went for your appointment all those ladies were supporting u + giving u hope, etc. I think that those people are a blessing from God. Even if they are not Christian, I think that God can just put people in our lives when needed + I can clearly see that he did that for u in that situation. That is amazing!

Oh my goodness Praise God! 🙌 I also have had 4 pregnancy’s but I didn’t know I had Diastases Recti until after my biggest baby who was my 3rd pregnancy. I was also 4 fingers separated. With my last (4th) pregnancy I had a 3 cm tear also and fear set in for a moment until we were able to get in for an US which we were able to hear our sweet babies heartbeat for the first time at almost 9 weeks along. 🥰 What a release of emotions that moment was for us. Just trying to be strong and find peace in whatever happens and remember that God had a plan while holding together as best as possible for my family. Thank you for sharing that insight on your thoughts of why you think you maybe tore because they couldn’t tell me why and I literally was basically too sick the first several months to do anything other than sleep, eat and try to take care of my other littles. It makes me think that very well could have been the reason. I will say that from 25 weeks along and after I had my last baby I started almost religiously wearing the ab binders and didn’t do much of any exercises besides walking until close to 6 month’s postpartum. I listened to my body as much as possible and just felt like if things felt painful or super uncomfortable like too much pressure on my abs I would stop whatever I was doing. I know it can take our bodies up to 2 years to fully recover after pregnancy even without diastases recti. Anyways I am praying for continued healing and peace for you and your family throughout this pregnancy. ❤

Wow, thank you so much for talking about diastasis recti. I have heard that term before and wondered for a while if I had that too. After listening to your video I checked myself and I think I definitely have it. I have started to do exercises to help my abs come back together and am hopeful that they will work to strengthen my core before trying to have another child again. Thanks for sharing!!

Thank you for sharing! Glad you and baby are doing well. It’s important to have a really good ob/gyn on your side. My ob/gyn did check me for diastasis recti after each birth (2 kids…6 yr old son and almost 4 yr old daughter). Not all medical professionals even midwives are created equal…some are just okay and some are great. So do your research before adding one to your medical team. A physical therapist can help you heal from diastasis recti by teaching you which exercises will help strengthen and repair the area. Some situations are really bad and require surgery to help repair the area. Hope that helps!🙂

Alexa, I’m so sorry you went through this! I’ve been having issues with period and I’ve been having it for 4 months straight now and I been going to the gyno and I was supposed to see specialist to determine when I need surgery but I ended up today finding out I have Covid for the second time last time I had Covid was back in May 2021 and now I have postpone my appointment for constellation and they’re telling me I might have endometriosis and telling me I can’t have kids. I’ve been on the flip side of wanting kids I was also born with a learning disability so in my heart I knew I couldn’t have kids I didn’t think it be fare to bring a human being in this world when I’m lucky enough to afford myself but now that I know I can’t have kids it hits hard for me I just always knew I wasn’t going to have kids but now that it’s been diagnosed and said it just feels real now. However, your family you and Carlos have a beautiful family I enjoy watching your guys’s channel and the content you give!! Thinking of you guys and have a blessed week!

I’m so sorry for you Alexa and I’m glad you’re ok. I have a birth defect and have to cath myself and couldn’t find my hole one day and so I went to my doctor and apparently even though I’ve never had children or gotten pregnant, I have a prolapsed uterus. 🤦♀️ I’m so glad everything is ok for you now. I’m Latina (half Mexican half Costa Rican) and I lived in Venezuela when I was little and there is the Rio Caroni. If you have a girl, I think caroni is a pretty name and keeps with your water/ocean theme. :)
