They'll probably stop removing glitch levels once they've pushed out the final update. Main reason why they do it atm is that if a level has a glitch that gets patched, suddenly that level becomes impossible.

Counterintuitively, if you jump from ground onto a spring, you will always rise the same amount, regardless of gravity, assuming you apply the same force to the jump across the different environments. The spring is storing energy from the fall, and since your initial velocity from the jump is the same, the final velocity will be the same (basic acceleration parabola). Kinetic energy is equal to e=1/2mv^2, and since both your mass and the velocity you impact with are invariable, you'll always launch off the spring the same distance, regardless of the force of gravity. Why Nintendo bothered to program this into their game is beyond me. P.S. This is, of course, ignoring some confounding factors. It's likely Mario could use the pendulum-like nature of springs to produce more force on subsequent jumps after the first, and air resistance should not be the same in a lower-gravity environment.

While this is correct, a spring/trampoline allows you to "jump twice": you first jump, land on the trampoline which stored the energy from your fall, and while the spring/trampoline is pushing you upward with the energy of your first jump you can make a second jump. This is what allows you to jump higher and higher if you synchronise yourself with the spring/trampoline by storing the energy of all your successive jumps (up until you reach the limit of how much energy it can store, which might or might not make it break). But if you stop adding energy by jumping and just let yourself bounce, you will bounce lower and lower as friction make you lose energy.

With an ideal spring in ideal conditions, the spring should always bounce you (an ideal rigid body) back to the same height you initially jumped to. But if you jump with the same force for the same length of time, you should jump higher in low gravity, because there is a smaller deceleration in low gravity, while you have the same initial speed. So, in low gravity the spring should bounce you back to this same height, which is higher than in normal gravity.

Good News! There's a program that allows you to type the level code in and see what it consists of. Many expert no-skip runners are using it on BS pick-a-path levels and hidden dev-block levels

i still don't understand how the checkpoint "troll" works. The second checkpoint is visible in the "LOL" hint room on a launcher. That room is not low gravity. Then he's going into the pipe where he being pushed to the CP which was then in the low gravity area and still lands in a checkpoint that is NORMAL gravity? basically, wtf?

yeah the CP2 you see in the LOL hint room actually is the one carl spawns from later but the view shifts to make it look like it was CP1. Just take a look at the terrain around CP2 and you'll notice that it adds up.

I can understand why Nintendo would remove levels relying on glitches. Imagine playing through the game normally and going through the frustrating experience of losing because somebody made a level that breaks the rules of the game.

Wouldn't they remove code levels then? Those also aren't very fun and don't respect nintendo's design philosophy. Just a random 9 digit code that will never be cracked until the end of time. Or how about dev block levels with just a random block somewhere that gives you the key? Nintendo doesn't care about the quality of the levels or how good it feels to play them. This is just a misplaced sense of pride.

I totally disagree. If someone is cleaver enough to make a level which uses this much tech, let them. The worst that can happen for a player is they will skip the level. I think Nintendo is killing the SMM community that already isn’t that big to begin with. This game has sold like half of what Luigi’s Mansion 3 has. I just wish Nintendo would leave us be.

So the CP 2 (LOL hint room) is actually the fake CP 1, but somewhere in the level the breakable blocks to the right were destroyed and a launcher was spawned to make it look non suspicious. The auto scroll also makes it look like a completely different room. I don't know though, how the checkpoint sound was triggered when pushed off the screen by the muncher

Right, the fake-CP1 setup wouldn't be that curious if it didn't make the checkpoint sound when you get pushed offscreen. I think it has to be some glitch--either a way to assign a nonstandard sound effect to something, or actually a third checkpoint.
