@Seamo576 жыл бұрын
+Gold Finger - Yes!! I remember being so bored & disappointed w/ early attempts like: "Skate or Die," & playing "720º" in Arcades.. and wishing for something that actually became a reality! I remember being so pumped about that when I saw that included, but that gap was such a beast.. and in the game you could easily do anything down it.. no prob.. it seemed tiny lol.. but it was actually correct, or extremely close to it, in terms of the size comparisons.. But obviously the mechanics to make the game more "Fun" and allow you to sail through the air w/ ease was part of the joy of it.. I wished the mechanics would've been a little different for "Real Skate spots," to make them more realistic.. (But these were the 1st TRUE EFFORTS at TRUE SKATEBOARDING GAMES!!), with that being said, even the 1st T.H. Pro Skater game was mind-blowing to my generation, (I'm guessing yours too) who dreamed of having such a game when we were just younger (from when I started in '89, at 9 yrs. old, through my teens during the 90's... and then BOOM!!!), It was so surreal when we first played it.. Unbelievable!!.. and to see this actually, and finally become a reality was definitely something I worried, may not happen, b/c at the time up until practically right before it's creation, Skateboarding didn't have the popularity & therefor the money backing it, that it did to even allow for the production of such an endeavor.. not to mention the technology to produce such a thing.. it was Cutting Edge for sure! And it was not "COOL" to be a skater in the 90's in most places, we were outcasts! So It's great that things turned around..

I went to Carlsbad High, class of '78. When my family first moved there back in 1971, our house was on the edge of town with nothing but hills and tomato fields for as long as a tank of gas on our dirt bikes would take us. The beaches were empty for the most part except for locals and a few tourists in the summer. I think the population was around 13,000. Now, it's well over 110,000 and with surrounding communities, it's close to 200,000. The hills we used to ride in are now homes, malls, car dealerships, fast food outlets...in other words, it sucks. Yeah, say what you want about growth and economy, but it still sucks. Overcrowding ruined that small beach side village and that's a shame.
