@Mario 0301 i think the american pop scene has satisfied its dilettante curiosity for latin music with despacito and havana. those 2 arent even all that un-american - despacito is from the american territory of puerto rico and havana is an american song purportedly about cuba but actually has nothing at all to do with it as much as i'd like acts like bomba estereo to hit big in that territory, i wouldnt bet on it ever happening in my lifetime

​@@mhergreen6742 ​ kpop hasnt ruined the american pop industry coz kpop hasnt really done anything all that important to the environment of pop music internationally. where do u see their influence? none of the big american acts want to sound like kpop. it's kpop that wants to be more american example: the newest kpop acts had developed a distinct american urban look and sound that the older acts from the 2000s didnt at just the same time american pop was becoming almost indistinguishable from regular hip hop the only difference between the then and now is that american acts are recognizing their presence - because it's massive, the numbers are unbelievable. so of course u're gonna see collabs. that's just sheer force of gravity but actual influence on the music? they dont really seem to have any. the time the american scene was most like the korean was the early 2000s
