Recently I got my lightsabers in and have been doing some basic sparring with them, but I wanted to learn the Obi-ani spin, I've seen a few tutorials on it and they don't explain it as much as you do, I'm now able to do it (albeit clumsily until I keep practicing) but I found it is a good workout for the arms if you aren't used to it, which is good. Because one of the reasons I bought my lightsabers is to help me lose weight, so thank you for the tips.

Your camera guy asked if the senseless spin was practical, I had a thought while watching as someone who does a bit of traditional swordplay but is new to lightsabers. Step 3, where you scoop your hilt from your back to your opposite hip, is almost identical to how a parry / parry riposte switches from an attacking stance to a deflection. The goal is to strike your opponent’s blade down and trap it on the ground during the motion to your hip, then reverse your motion to strike upwards at their neck. This would be for 2handed duelling, since you need the opposite force of your offhand to riposte the opposite way you came. Though it might work for 1 hand if you had really strong deltoids and abs haha. Pardon the text wall lol, just thought it would be really cool to guard & confuse with the senseless spin but transition into combat the instant they engage you. This move would be dumb as hell with a longsword but actually pretty nimble with something you can spin easily, like a lightsaber :)
