Fellow big fella over here and let me tell ya, it gets harder every time I slip up and need to drop weight. It's crazy the damage it put on my body during those years too. People just don't know what's coming, physical recovery I mean, at that age.

Epic perspective. This was needed, these thoughts aren't shared by the masses. 7pm is changing the game. Legend of my ERA. I was 13 when Melo & Bron were drafted. Maturity shows you how much youth is uninformed and how much we have to grow and learn. Zion is gonna be fine.

Bro Unc Melo deserves contracts for narration, because bro can dissect and analyze within the confines of different eras, play styles, effort and obviously tenacity towards what it takes to win in the history of the NBA as it is. Love the insight, keep it up , keep it #Melo
@SDK248
@SDK248 Жыл бұрын
And tbh on the note of Zion Williamson, the narrative over his weight and whether or not it affects his level of play, it should be kept to himself and he should be able to control his definition of optimal health and living for his sake of personal lifestyle. But Melo put it up to clarity on the idea of what it takes for greatness to be achieved through the highest levels of body recovery and health maximization. I really believe in Zion’s capability to not just lose weight but maximize his physical capabilities, putting in half the battle of clean eating and energy consumption in order to perform at the highest level. Let’s not forget, bro is phenom hooper, he has a jumper that hasn’t been given a true 100% plus ultra effort yet, so when Williamson starts to flip side of athleticism, the test of skill and health endurance will ultimately be the true test of what it takes to play ball. 🏀

Melo’s right about Zion coming into the league but also let’s keep in mind that he’s not 19-20 anymore. He’s 23 with a max contract, like now it’s on you man. The Pelicans have a good squad, but it’s ultimately on Zion to get them to that next level. And that requires him to be in shape, stay as healthy as possible and dominate like he’s supposed to.

I think its also about who is Zion surrounded with. If he's surrounded with people that don't challenge him and don't help him to focus he won't get disciplined. He's still immature and naive, and he needs to be surrounded with mature people that call him out when he goes off track. Edit: I see Melo mentions it at the end of the video, Melo is a wise man.

There’s 3 body types. Ectomorph: This is when the body is lean and slender and tends to have less body fat and muscle. Endomorph: This is when the body has more stored fat, lots of muscle, and gains weight easily. ... Mesomorph: This is when the body is athletic and strong. Zion is definitely a mesomorph. I’m a ectomorph and can 2 whole pizzas and lift like crazy and at 230 I look 215-220. With zion he has to have a strict diet. He can’t think about dairy and carbs without gaining 20 pounds. He rich, young and got women chasing him. Got to lock in or it will be over quick.
@Aircheekz

yep. im also a ectomorph... Zion needs a REAL expert nutritionist on his team. unfortunately all that mainstream diet advice is BS so unless he discovers the truth (no not BS veganism) he will struggle with this for a while imo

People gotta stop behaving like staying in shape is difficult. Eat right and exercise an hour in your day. Athletes like Zion started working hard in school because they set themselves apart from their peers way back. Being in the league with more money makes staying in shape easier. You now have better trainers, a chef to induce the heat possible diet for you…we can say Zion is young and it’s pressure but pressure doesn’t stop you from eating healthy and pressure doesn’t stop you from working out in your own home gym during the offseason. Let’s stop making excuses when there’s players who embrace the pressure.

@@emoburger42069 my thing is he doesn’t have to buy in being the pelicans center piece but you should want to ball out and been healthy for yourself and your future if he’s not a fan of the pelicans organization then that’s understandable but he’s messing up potential deals by not being at his peak conditioning shape people talked about how joker was overweight but it never tanked his play on the court

It’s sad that “fans” want a better Zion than Zion wants for Zion. I said this on another channel but if Zion doesn’t lose weight or get in shape for his career do it for your health. Also, as for all the attention and hype that comes with #1 draft picks can be said about ALL of #1 draft picks. Look at what we said about Wemby coming in. Wemby needs to put on some muscle. He did.

That's good and all Zion is a good guy but my thing is , why can't they have more than one face for the nba, with all the teens that the NBA have it should be more than just one man carrying on that torch because I don't think it's fair for them to give it to just one person, because they draft more than one person. And there's a lot of talent, great talent in the NBA today so it shouldn't be just one man carrying that torch for the whole NBA.

Bron's puttin in work. you wanna be great? you wanna be like kobe and bron? it takes EXTRA work. but dude may not want greatness. may just want to average 20 points. 50 games a season. 6 rebounds. and make millions while eatin his way through the south. it's the key to all things: YOU GOTTA WANT IT.
