And after everyone got tired of that act…he caked off talking shit about all his old players with his brigade of YT media buddies helping to promote it. Same thing woulda happened to Feel Jackson if Mike didn’t get sick of Doug Collins or if Apex Shaq hadn’t been ready to win. You can only get away with being a dickhead who takes digs in the press for so long without winning. Even Larry Brown knew that, which is why he negotiated to steal Rick Carlisle’s job during the 2003 ECSF while simultaneously being out-coached by him, because he had an chance to get into a better situation (after he decided not to draft Dirk or Pierce plus supermax 55 year old Mutumbo) while blaming Allen Iverson. Looked up Karl's stats as a player, and it explains alot to me. He was an avg player. Didn't have great numbers. He made it to the League, so I'm sure he had aspirations of being a star player. But he played in San Antonio, George Gervin was the star and focus of the team. That could explain maybe why he was so hard on the star players. And also I think of the salary factor, the guys he coached made more money then the entire teams he played for. I think Karl was jealous, and envious of the players he was supposed to coach. The star players were living out his dreams, while he got to watch from the sidelines...
