He apparently had a female coyote called Willie that he was introduced to at the sanctuary, and they kinda bonded and formed a duo pack. Willie was a rescue too. I think she was hand reared or spent most of her early days domesticated before she was seized and put into the sanctuary before Carmine.

Correction her name is Wilee. She isn't domesticated as much as she was raised around humans and cannot be released into the wild as she hasn't learned survival skills...Carmine however is a lot more wild and fended for himself before he was rescued...but he's somewhat accustomed to humans and dogs, so he too cannot really be expected to survive, because a person may misunderstand and shoot him on their property etc.
