You know what I love about you and this channel Scotty? It's your honesty, whenever you make mistake no matter how small or large you own it and include it in the video, you don't edit it out. I love that and appreciate that. I was excited to see a new Video this morning! I love waking up to see your face 😂.

That bit about 2 coils not drawing power at the same time made perfect sense. That’s a damned good idea 👍

Glad someone got it. Yeah, the point I was trying to make was that individually the coils can draw up to 15amps each. I didn't want two coils trying to draw from the same wire at the same time.

Love seeing the wiring work, it's often overlooked. Another thing that's really helpful to me is the amount of stuff that you find and use that I didn't know existed. In the next couple of years, I'm going to start rebuilding my own project car and watching your videos and just seeing all the stuff that you use, I'm writing down a list of all the things that'll be useful, from all your combined videos. The last time I did any sort of thing modification on this level was about 15 years ago and man, I was getting looms from wreckers, cutting them up and modifying them to suit and now you can just buy it all and swap ECUs between cars. Stuff is so much easier now.

You make it look easy scotty and a nice therapeutic video to watch while im not well. Although i don't under 90% of wiring, it still made for a good watch. Keen for the next one. The thing is Scotty as much as its a pain this is the kind of content we wana see. Must say for me this episode was better than the last 10 as DIY people love the nitty gritty. Hopefuly it will continue through to the config of the haltech and first start. Maybe an idea that literally just popped into my head. Ask @turboyoda to come down for a one episode calab on finishing off the wiring. Im sure it would get a very high view count. cheers

I totally agree about the time it takes to wire stuff. Even having a job where i have to work with (different) wires all day, it takes me a lot of time. I bought a new project a few weeks ago, had an engine swap like 30 years ago, runs but the wiring was a mess and totally not to my standards. So i wanted to fix it quickly. Then my job background kicked in and i started to rewire, including ripping of the fuse box and put in another one from a different car, including all the relays so they're all at the same spot and reachable without disasembling the dashboard. This was 3 weeks ago, still not done 🙄 To be fair: i'm waiting on parts to fit in the other fuse/relay box. I need a spacer for that and someone offered me to get it 3D printed, but he's on vacation right now.

Not a big fan of aluminum cable it has a much shorter duty cycle time when loaded current wise and it becomes brittle with time and heat. Copper is much more reliable and takes a lot longer to heat up when used. If you are wiring your starter motor especially try to get some welding lead flex. It wot get brittle and break off or rot in the connector as easily. Always try to use a rubber insulated flex (Welding leads) for the starter but others can be a PVC welding flex. Aluminum flex vs Copper Flex for a matched capacity needs to be about 45~50% larger in square diameter and has a much higher resistance (40% I think). You can get away with the usual current rating of 80% for most wires but the starter need a bit of redundant capacity if you run into trouble and have to crank it a bit, especially with a flat battery. If you do have to use aluminum cables you can help their durability by using some dielectric grease inside the crimps and the immediate exit from them. It will help stop any oxidation.
