Mate stainless steel hose clamps are the way to go, but still if the factory hose clamps are made to do the job then use them, unless you do not have any ? Plus unless the clamp is going onto steel, then use the factory ones as they clamp onto plastic so much better with out over tightening them and cracking the plastic outlets or inlets?

Hey Scotty, sorry about your hand! Try not to get too much of a taste for executive mechanicing, you might not want to get back on the tools! Just saw the vaso with the rear main, not sure if you used it to lube the outer portion of the seal, but use a bit of regular FIPG for doing that. Rubber grease and vaso stay 'lubey' and can soften the rubber slightly and I've seen engines that have high boost/blowby/crankcase pressure blow out rear mains like that. Oil FIPG will give you the lube you need to ease the seal in, also seal any minor scratches and sins from previous removal and, most importantly, DRY in place, helping keep the seal on under high PCV!
@7071t6 Жыл бұрын
I hope you have a trans cooler scotty, mate the last thing you need is the auto overheating, even though its colder weather, still for ever degree over the operational temps the more likely something will let go, plus always change the auto fluid after drags and the same with oil filter and engine oils?

I have to admit I was surprised when you chose the trolvo as a race car, not because it’s a volvo but because they are such a heavy vehicle compared to many options that are out there , but I have to admit I’ve been entrenched in what you have achieved with this vehicle. I await all video on this journey as it has proved what you can do with a budget on any car. Can’t wait to see it hit the track again. Sorry to hear about the dog bite brother. Finally catching up on eps and when you started building the hybrid and saying all the manifolds will fit... i'm already wondering how you would address the taller block height and whether it all still clears the bonnet. I guess lowering the engine mounts wasn't an option due to sump clearance or something?

Great video as always boys 👍 I have a question though. The bolts you are using to mount the engine to the engine stand, What grade does the bolts have? My 1jz didn't come with a transmission so i ordered a bolt set from DM, high quality bolts they said but when i got them they are 8.8 grade bolts which is the lowest grade you can find.
