gross. Too retro. I like the E30, 2002, e36,e46, even e90 but those cars never did it for me. I think they drive nice but are the sole reason the bm trouble you is crap. Too much tech and proprietary engines made in small numbers make hard to find parts and the engines were sludge machines anyway first time you let the oil get too hot and thin, head makes a foamy mess of oil in the valve cover...next think you know you have a caked cam and blockages in oil veins at 40k miles and so on. I rant sorry. Bad Bad v12 imo.

4:41 I remember being a kid , there was a neighbor nearby me with two of these 6 series csl , I never thought much about it then , but both the cars ended up vanishing shortly before the whole property sold. Not sure what the story was , but I never knew it was such a rarity until after the cars were gone and I tried finding more of them.

Hehe recognizable... i've got a 1978 e24 6 series for 20 years now.. 20 years ago most ppl really didn't think much of it.. Though i always liked it ever since i 1st drove it! Seems the last few years something changed. I get more and more positive comments on it. Last week a car stopt next to me, the window rolled down and a kid said.. "sir, you have a cool car" 😄

I had an 81 633CSi for about 4 years. It had a ported/shaved cylinder head and upgraded exhaust and was hands down my favorite car I have ever owned. I definitely regret selling it pretty much every day. The sound of the induction and throaty exhaust, ample torque, ultra smooth clutch and shifter, and especially the way it'd give you a few backfires on lifting the throttle from about halfway. Gives me goosebumps just thinking about it!

There were about 690 z3 s54 mcoups imported. It took me nine months to finally find one that I could actually acquire. In 1984 I imported a e30 baur which I still have.

Thank you for the video, but none of these BMWS is rare. If there is one that might qualify as such, it is the South Africa-only M745i ( yes, the only M7! ) with the detuned, M-1 derived 282 hp M-88 engine . Interestingly enough, the one that was featured in their car magazine road test had actually come up for sale a few years ago; I am sure the new owner is quite happy.

We had the legendary 325is in South Africa , A group N racing machine with a 6 cylinder tone so sweet no Bmw or any other car can match up to it up until today!

Had an E24 for a while. Black on black on black leather. 3.5l. Zender 17"'s. That thing turned heads. And so nice to control sliding. But I had to just sell it as the body was rotting way too much. Actually got my money back too so no complaints whatsoever! I really miss it.

I reckon I have a rarer BMW than most if not all of these! I’ve got a 1987 e30 325is M-Tech 1! Apparently they only ever made 298 (genuine ones, the ones on eBay that have an aftermarket M-Tech spoiler and call it an M-Tech don’t count lol) and they’re pretty damn hard to find an original! The story goes that they made the e30 M3 in 1986 but only made them in left hand drive, and they only really made the M3 for the public as some of the races they wanted to enter required them to sell a certain amount of road versions so M’s passion was more for racing not road cars! But the M3 was an instant legend and basically in England we started crying out for a right hand version of the M3 but M couldn’t be bothered because they’d already met their requirements to race! So what they did is get some right hand drive e30 325i sports and tuned them, gave it a short ratio 5 speed manual and fitted lower suspension etc and the nice M-Tech 1 body kit but basically they made it a bit too “track day ready” for a car that’s still going to spend 99% of its time on the road, and they were renowned for being a bit too arse end happy with the short ratio box and stiffer suspension, so basically after only 9 months they stopped making the M-Tech 1 and started making the M-Tech 2 which was still sporty but was softened up compared to the original M-Tech 1! The M-Tech 2 is a lot more common although still comparatively rare compared to most cars but common enough that it gained enough notoriety among BMW enthusiasts to keep the prices a little higher but the M-Tech 1 seems to be gaining and should overtake! So yeah it had a very short limited production run of 9 months and apparently they only made 298 in that time! And given their renowned arse end happy nature then a fair chunk of them ended up in ditches and wrapped around trees which makes them very rare these days! Way way rarer than the e30 M3 even and at the time the original M3 was a 2.3L straight 6 engine and the M-Tech 1 was a 2.5L tuned by M so it was a very good contender but yeah it’s largely been overlooked and forgotten by a lot of bmw people because they’re so rare that most people don’t even know they exist! And yet it’s technically the first right hand drive M3’s and a shit load rarer too so I’m hanging onto it for dear life and one day when the price is right I’ll sell it! I only paid £900 for it about 10 years ago with no logbook or MOT but it turned out to be worth it and mine isn’t mint condition, I want to get it fully restored but yeah they’re going for more like £10k-£15k now on eBay so they’re finally starting to get the recognition they deserve! And it’s nice to own something rarer than a Bugatti Veyron for about a thousandth of the cost lol!

I reckon the 635 BMW coupe is one of the best looking two door cars ever produced. Two others spring to mind though. The Australian HQ GTS Monaro from 1971 coupe and the American 1958 Plymouth Fury two door. I know, I know they are all very different cars from different countries from different time periods designed to appeal to the buyers they were chasing. End of the day though, a sexy looking car is just that.......a sexy looking car regardless of were it came from, what year and what buyer it was aimed at.

The E21 3 Series is probably the rarest of 3 Series' cars since they didn't make nearly as many, there were about 2x more E30s produced than E21s.

@@jax7038 Listen. There were *true* rare BMW's like the Z1, 328 from 1938 and the one-off V16 Goldfisch. The Z8 is several times more rare than any original 6-series but it's not on this list. The maker of this video just had a look at the BMW's he liked the most and since he lives in some rural backwater he assumes these BMW's are "rare". That's because he can't perceive a time when they were common enough to be spotted daily in traffic in larger cities.

Fair enough if they’re being ruined in some way, but if an older BMW is being upgraded so that it can be enjoyed whilst we’re still allowed to buy petrol, I don’t see a problem. I’ve a 40,000 mile E23 in totally original condition. I’ve had it 7 years and haven’t used it much. I feel like enjoying it now, so plan to replace its automatic with a dogleg 5 speed, put a new exhaust, cams, pistons and some other period correct upgrades on it to turn it into a fun and gorgeous sleeper. Shame on me as well?

having done chassis work on the m1,the one featured here is a different beast to the road version,the road car had around 270-bhp,the racing variant had in excess of 450.and there's no footage of the very rare v16 they toyed around with.
