The point is that: if everything is country music, nothing is. Country music is about storytelling, beautiful vocal harmonies, dobro, mandolin, fiddle, sliding steel, banjo, guitar, and light percussion. (Aka not manufactured/ computerized sound) When anything that talks about trucks, dirt roads, or beer becomes country music, it IS terribly sad.

Actually it’s not a perfect country song if it doesn’t say something about Mamas Prison,Trucks, Trains, Rain or gettin drunk. And David Alan Coe felt obliged to add the last verse to the song and it goes like this... Well I was drunk, the day my maw got outta prison and I went to pick her up in the rainnnnn but before I could get to the station in my pickup truck... she got ran over by a damned ole train!

@@themayor6836 absolutely incorrect. How do you define the King of Country? Most sells? Most awards? The Beatles are the highest selling musical act of all time. While I believe along with (probably) most people that grew up between the 80s 90s and today that King George is the king of country music. I've always wondered his thoughts (especially being from Texas) on the Texas Playboys and "once you're down in Texas Bob Wills is still the king". The thought came back to me when he mentioned they were in College Station.
