If you would like to try bone broth without the hassle, I found a great product from Australia called Meadow and Marrow that is bone broth concentrate in a jar. It's delicious. Welcome to carnivory. I'm glad you stuck it out and gave it a serious try and hope you stay with it. It only gets better. I've been doing this for a little over a year now and I feel great. I didn't have any of the adaptation issues that you mentioned but I guess everyone starts from a different point. I just didn't want people to think those things are inevitable for everyone. It helps if you are already keto and it helps if you keep it clean in the first few weeks. The fun thing is that if you stick with it, the cravings and urges to "cheat" just go away. By the holidays next year, you won't even have any desire for all that stuff you used to think was "food".

Here’s a great bone recipe if you decide to try it again. Get 4 to 6 beef bones, preferably grass fed, which I could not get. Put them on a roasting pan. Heat oven to 425. Now if you want to do vegetables here is what I used. Two carrots, cuts in chunks, two sticks of celery, remove the leaves and cut the stalks in chunks. One onion quartered, I use 2 cloves of garlic minced or you can buy a jar of it already minced, spread over bones and veggies. Then sprinkle some sweet basil, sea salt and pepper. I accidentally sprinkled tarragon on it thinking I picked up basil, but it still turned out delicious. Then you put it in the oven 25 to 30 minutes. In a crockpot put all ingredients in the pot, including any drippings. Then add 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, 2 bay leaves (if you like them) they actually add to the flavor and 10 to 12 cups of distilled water. Cook on high for 4 hours and then reduce to low for 20 hours. When finished place in mason jars and refrigerate or once cooled place in plastic containers and freeze. I actually canned mine the next day in my canner. I did take the fat off before canning as I figured if I was going to drink it I did not want to drink the fat. Afraid of disaster pants. However, when I drank it, it was so delicious and filling. Good luck if you decide to try it.

But I did the month of the diet and was soo amazed over the results that I did one more month ( voluntary😂) with cheat day once a week.. Man, It changed my life! I took about a week to adjust and after that it was no big deal! I wasn't hungry. The diet was a form of carnivore just with 100g of salad a day, and we took supplements, two eggs a day and I could have seafood like fish and chrimp, but I mostly ate chicken and beef. I lost 15 kilos in 2 months, my headache was gone, heartburn disappeared, my mental state was amazing! Anxiety and mild depression went away, I was soo productive and had soo much energy.. It was awesome! After that I realised that I need a lot of animal protein in my diet and I'm soo glad my mom forced me to join her 😂

Thank you for the video, I’m only on my 4th day of carnivore for weight loss (30lbs) and not having too much fun eating so much meat n the scale is not really moving much at all so was getting a bit discouraged. Listening to you has given me a new purpose. So funny you mentioned the smell of the bone broth, when I smelled the broth in my kitchen it was super strong and overbearing, so I broke down and added the celery and carrots I had in my fridge since I would’ve had to throw them out, also added a whole garlic. ALSO convinced myself it was going to be delish, so I drink it, but I cannot leave all the fat in it from the marrow, n it’s actually growing on me. I added chicken feet to it as well which my three boys thought it was both gnarly n awesome, it smelled AND looked like a witches brew😂 In the end I put all the meat/fat pieces and chicken feet in the air fryer and crisped them up to chicharrón and the kids loved them. Long story short, think the veggies helped the smell, I discarded the veggies and I’m still having my meat tea.

With regard to bone broth, many people who do carnivore do so for food sensitivities and auto-immune issues. Best to find herbs that you really like and pack the pot full of nice herbs and spices to make the broth taste reasonable, as without the good stuff its not a nice taste. I am sort of carnivore, I still have a few biscuits with tea or coffee each day, but probably only 10% of what I was having before, I also have had 1 ice cream lolly each night, but before I had 3 each night, so yeh, I only started 5 days ago, so no more ice cream lollies, etc.

Plants were always medicine, you don't suppose to have a medicine based diet. With that said, when you go to a 5 star restaurant you often see your steak come with 3-4 pieces of broccoli or green leafs, this is because people long ago before phones, TV, radio, even magazines observed what they ate and how it affected them. People observed that greens absorbed some toxins and cooking byproducts from the meat and therefore made it better for you. You don’t want to overdo the greens because they can do the same to you as it does to the steak… But do cook broth with a proper recipe using some vegetables.
@StephenCardilloNC6 жыл бұрын
Ramiel You may want to research Frank Tufano’s channel on vegetables and anti-nutrients. Most nutrients in vegetables aren’t bio-available for humans and most people don’t properly prepare vegetables for consumption to reduce the phytic acid in them.

@@StephenCardilloNC I like Tufano, though , I realize that if you are not a strict person and have some late somewhere or a browny or 1 cookie... Carnivore can leave you vitamin C depleted, I know cuz it happen to me. Then I thought, well how about introducing some kiwi, then learn about plant benefits not from the nutrition side but from their chemical effects, then I realize OH so that is the human diet our grandparents had before the sugar industrialization... People had this figured out long ago, you don't need to go extreme on anything.
@StephenCardilloNC6 жыл бұрын
Ramiel You need to go extreme in reducing your insulin spikes when you have damaged your metabolism from the overconsumption of sugar over a lifetime. That and I don’t tolerate greens at all in digestion. At this point I have no choice but to be strict. And the Vitamin C depletion occurs because sugar competes for the same receptors as Vitamin C.

I been keto for two years , been at a stall with my weight for eight months , I am really getting frustrated now!.... My sleep is terrible I like to correct it ,I also have a autoimmune disorder. I heard the carnivore diet might just help with these issues . I don't know too much about the carnivore diet... I am kinda scared to eat a large amount of meat at one sitting for fear of gluconeogenesis...
@JezaGaia5 жыл бұрын
I was on keto for mental health and ketone levels were paramount to keeping my issues let's say asleep so I understand your concerns. What I learned is that in fact your protein needs don't go up because you go carnivore, you don't need to eat tons of meat you need to try and eat your red meat as raw as possible, eat some organ meat if you can, liver in particular, otherwise eat raw egg yolks every day, cook the wites but leave the yolks on the side and add them raw to the cooked whites. I'm slim and sedentary and for me a ratio to 2 for 1 fat vs meat in grams is perfect, probably you would want less fat on a weight loss situation or more exercise. I also intermittent fast 16 hours a day and that helps to get my glucose down the one thing that truly raises it though is dairy, I use raw milk in very tiny quantities for my allergies as well as cream and butter from raw milk for fat and that, specially the milk, truly raises my glucose levels. As I need the milk for my allergies I use the fasting to mitigate the effects, but I would advise avoiding dairy except maybe butter if your goal is to lose weight Hope this helps a bit :)

JezaGaia I eat raw meat that’s not a problem for me , I do eat 1-2oz of liver everyday , I haven’t been able to convince myself to eat it raw yet , in time I may . I didn’t know about eatting egg yolk raw sounds gross to me ... lol 🤢 maybe I can mix it in my ground beef like a meatball with some pork rinds that might make it more tolerable. About fasting I love it so much, its less dishes hahah..😄I thought about giving fasting a break for three weeks and now it’s time to go back and see if it will make a difference in my body composition if I don’t loose weight, I am a big fan of 24/4 and prolong fasting for days. I did water fasting , dry fasting I stop for a while because I didn’t want to put stress on my adrenals. I eat 2eggs , lots of butter I was told to do 80 percent fat and 20 percent protein I am not sure what’s the best ratios, to loose weight .I been trying to find the right macros for me. I thank you so much for your response, and your helpful information. I would like to chat with you in the future maybe we can help each other along in our journey. Have a great night!!!😃

The beef bone broth is hard to put down unless I salt the hell out of it... I've just been holding my breath and chugging it as fast as I can lol

I threw the bone on the grill with some salt and just ate the marrow. Way better than broth. I agree with you, it smelled just horrible and tasted just as bad.

Before you know it you'll be at 100k subs. You're doing this clip in one take and seem like you're a natural. I am trying to heal a fatty liver with the carnivore diet. I am starting to think we don't need all that Bactria Inside us! It's kinda like eating a diet what the native Indians ate. I had problems sleeping as well till I ate raw salt before bed.,just like a deer does. Buy some Ghee for that vision thing. I love dipping deer, beef , lamb in ghee butter. Deer has less fat but way more Omega 3's but if you want more brain power then sardines is where it's at. Kinda have sardines as late night snack.

Thanks, I'll give the Ghee a go! I love venison too!

Hi Rick. You could try chicken frames in the slow cooker for 8 or 10 hours. You might prefer that to beef. Real chicken soup can be great.

Bone broth ... Need to bake bones for 1/2 hour or so before you slow cook. Throwing chicken bones wouldn't hurt also.

Been carnivore for three weeks now and I too have noticed blurry vision. Having trouble reading things on the tv. Never associated it to the diet. And bone broth does suck😆 Have lost eight pounds so far.

You should have added celery, garlic and onions to bone broth..then when cooked strain them out. Add lots of salt and pepper and squeeze of lemon juice.It is delicious. I only cook it for 6 hours.

I’ve eaten meat and carbs for years. Now that I’ve cut out the carbs I’ve had good results. Edit: I forgot to mention I did alternate day fast for the first couple of weeks because intestinal issues are a motherfucker for the first couple of weeks so the day in between helps with that.

I'm suspicious fruits are nature's fast food for when we are traveling or hunting..and ground crops are for animals..we get the ground plants nutrition from the animals that eat them.

I don't get it are we trying to go back before civilization started. If you are eating healthy foods and doing workout you naturally become strong and you will fell good. And also I tried it and i got diarrhea. After a while it was just mucous coming out but i ate mostly chicken brest and meat, is it because of that.
@tamarap3876 жыл бұрын
haha...My experience with bone broth is exactly the same as you described! I'm having trouble with the organ meats, but someone recently said to freeze the liver, cut into bite sized bits and swallow them whole like a 'supplement'! Liver's in the freezer now. Just like you, I went from Keto to Carnivore... because I was getting swollen glands probably from too much cruciferous veg. My hair was falling out and digestive issues as well (altho not as bad as the fart factory vegan experience of the past...haha) Now on carnivore, no digestive issues, hair is great now, and glands are all good. My lipid panel on keto was crazy...and am not sure how things are now with Carnivore, but I'm feeling very good. If you have numbers that you get freaked out by, go to Dave Feldman's fb group....You'll feel pretty normal! All the best. Thanks for the video!

Why don't you cook bones with a whole onion. 2 celery stalks, a carrot and cider vinegar. After 6/8 hours strain it. Throw out the veg. With lots of salt and pepper and squeeze of lemon it really is delicious.

I agree with you about the bone broth stinks like hell. I ate it, but then found some ready made bone broth it isn’t bad. I’m not big on organ meat but if I can find some good ways to cook liver I might try it. Thinking keeping it on the rare side maybe it won’t stink so bad. That was the one food my mom would try to get me to eat! I just couldn’t do eat. Oh well good luck on your journey. Steve

Roast your bones in the oven first huge difference season it as it roasts then boil the roasted bones you will love the flavor. Think of boiling a steak gross kinda the same thing always roast the bones first and the veggies can be strained out but leave a flavor.

It sounds like you over cooked the bone broth and way to long 12-24hr the longer the stronger ,it should just start to boil and add some salt ,personalty I like turkey and or chicken bone broth

Carnivore is NOT a keto diet. It is extremely low carb, but more than 50% of the macronutrients are fat. It is not ketogenic. The fat is about 60-62% of calories based on the macro count for 2 ribeyes per day. My average Macros are Fat 150g per day and 200g Protein per day (that of a Ribeye) In terms of percentage of total calories Fat 62% and Protein 38% ( percentage of total calories) 1 gram of fat contains 9 calories; whereas 1 gram of protein contains only 4 calories. Fat packs double the amount of energy per unit of mass. This is one reason fat is so satiating. Rib Eye Steak is 60-70% fat!! The Aim is trying to match the protein:fat ratio of a ribeye so when I eat fish yes I need to up the fat because I’m trying to match the protein:fat ratio of a ribeye and most fish are leaner than this. If I do have leaner fish, I’ll add lard, tallow, marrow or bone broth to boost the fat content. And of course, the fish will be wild caught.

its awesome when one get adapted took me a week from keto but some people it can take up to over 30days to fully adapt. you did the bonebroth wrong yes i rarely cook mine on the stove for 14 hours also i roast half the bones
@nicholaswestendorf19836 жыл бұрын
dude, u completely made bone broth incorrectly. U must roast the beef bones in the oven first to brown them, and the veggies and herbs,salt and pepper are a MUST. !!!!! Try some REAL bone broth before you write it off.

I actually bought some ready made bone broth from a local health food store and it was delicious! So yeah, I did it wrong lol. Will take another stab at it. Cheers

A benefit of roasting the bones is a lot of fat renders out, which you can keep for cooking.

Nicholas Westendorf who the fuck are you to say what’s a real bone broth and what’s not. And no yo don’t have to roast the bones to further destroy the nutrients in the bone marrow, you dumb fuck

The reason your bone broth tasted badly was because you cooked it in a slow cooker. I had a chef/nutritionist tell me that a slow cooker doesn't get to a high enough temperature to release certain nutrients. Also, did you roast your bones first? Farmstead Meatsmith has a great little ebook that walks you through it: farmsteadmeatsmith.com/product/stock/. Sidenote: really appreciate your attitude and approach! I came to carnivory from keto, too. Wouldn't go back - and a great way to support local farmers! (All my meat, eggs, and dairy come from within 50 miles of my house!)
