I do the same idea with a salad also: 16 oz of non starchy 12 -16 oz sweet potato. I prebake the sweet potatoes the night before. 12 hours in the fridge alters the starches. The simplest dressing is plain basalmic dressing. For anyone that wants more info, the doctors, which approve of this and provide data to support it are McDougal, Ornish, Fuhrman, Gregor, and Essylstein, among others. I love that you did this video.

I think it's pretty simple, if you want to maximize your health when it comes to your diet decrease or eliminate alcohol, added sugars, saturated fats, ultraprocessed foods and foods that you're allergic or sensitive to. An anti-inflammatory diet includes fruits, vegetables, and healthy fats. When I hear people talk about the carnivore diet or keto and rave about how great it is and that vegans only eat processed foods I think, do they realize all meat and dairy are processed? They literally call them meat processing plants. So unless you're hunting and and preparing it yourself or drinking milk straight from the cow you are consuming processed foods.

@mjs28s

The use of processed for the carni is obvious. Calling meat processed is on the same level that you should just call every food processed, less you are eating only the things that you pick yourself, don't wash them or peel them, etc. Vegan processed foods is going to come along with things like refined grains, partially or wholly, isolated this or that, fillers, thickeners, flavor enhancers, etc. And, yes I get the "Not all" so lets not play that. Talk about the majority of vegan products. Now, buying meat (which is disgusting and I am not defending it only harping on your argument by redefining of term or intentionally misrepresenting their argument), does not require additives, artificial this or that, thickeners, etc. They are simply buying flesh with the hair and, often, the skin removed and then portioned into reasonable portions. I am not pro-meat by a long shot, but weak arguments is not what vegans should be using to get others to stop with the consumption of animals whether they go vegan or not, at least people should to eating them. That along would spare billions of land animals per year. Hundreds of billions or even over a trillion, if you count fresh and saltwater fish and other critters.

I can’t imagine having the same thing to eat for every single meal, nothing to eat but meat, cheese and eggs, and nothing to drink but milk, I just simply do not believe that anyone who says they are 100% carnivore is telling the truth, especially when they say they’ve been doing it for years and years.
@subwayfacemelt4325

@@jadeedmundson5715 I do it, without milk. I just drink water only. But I have to, or I get badly ill. "100% Carnivore" means no dairy...I think...Maybe that's the "Lion Diet". There are many variations of "carnivore". My version requires no milk because, like the OP states, there's all sorts of processes/policies followed in the production of animal products, and it often involves persistently nasty chemicals much like the pesticides and their adjuvants that are sprayed onto and soaked up by the plants we grow.

Steaming the vegetables, adding a cubed and air fried russet potato, and adding other spices than just cumin is *exactly* what I did, too! Having a baked potato every day is just wonderful. I also took out the ACV, because while it has health benefits, I couldn't stand the taste. Sometimes I forgo the cumin and whatnot and just have salt, black pepper, maybe some mag or mushroom powder. I have some thoughts about this video. Firstly, many people do very well on carnivore as it is really varies from person to person. Personally, I found that I feel much better with non-starchy vegetables as part of my diet and always have issues on carnivore, however overall I am a big believer in a low carb approach (it's the only way I can keep weight off long term). Secondly, Atkins and Carnivore are NOT the same thing. You can have tons of plant and processed foods on Atkins, which are both prohibited on carnivore. Thirdly, the reason people do carnivore and have long term success is often because they are highly intolerant of many plant foods and find that going completely off them helps their body heal more effectively.
@TheStruggler101
@TheStruggler101 Ай бұрын
But you can't call it healing can you? Because if someone following the carnivore diet for that reason attempted to eat plant/fibre containing foods again they would just get all of the same symptoms as they were before, or they would find themselves even more intolerant of those foods than before.
@cmfernandez9283
@cmfernandez9283 Ай бұрын
Why is it so hard for people to understand that both a vegan diet and a carnivore diet can be healing and healthy diets for some humans, while both of these diets can also be hurtful for some humans. There are tons of ex-vegans, especially women, who have suffered debilitating malnutrition on so-called "balanced" vegan diets, in the same way that some carnivores just had to give up on eating a purely carnivorous diet after developing issues. The Carnivore diet is an elimination diet that fits into the family of carb restricted diets, like the Keto diet. To say that there is no research on therapeutic carbohydrate restriction is complete nonsense. There is quite literally a medical textbook on the topic (Ketogenic: The Science of therapeutic carbohydrate restriction in human health). There are reputable, practicing clinical physicians who heal people by reducing their carbohydrate intake to below 20 total carbs a day in the same way that there are physicians that have done the same for people using high carb plant based diets. There are 8 billion people on this planet. Why is it so hard to accept that there is no one size fits all approach that works for everyone?

the carnivore diet evangelists are completely bizarre. I think a lot of the "hype" around it on social media is grift, "tell people people to adopt my (appealing, to many) diet for dubious and idiosyncratic 'health' reasons, then get clicks and sell them books and seminars about it". sure, maybe it's an ok choice for people struggling with food allergies to a very large number of plants, but for the typical person it seems like lunacy. I enjoy meat sometimes, but a diet heavy in (much less composed entirely of) it sounds both extremely expensive and like I'd feel sick, tired, and bloated 24/7. no thanks.

The issue I see with vegetarians/vegans granted vegetarians can have eggs is that it's hard to get the protein I need with lower calories. They have protein-type foods like tempeh and tofu, but the issue with all those meat alternatives is that they are all super-processed and man-made foods. Meat is just natural and dont have to really do anything to it. I do use some of his recipes as I do enjoy these type of meals as well but sometimes I toss in some meat.

Well, to be clear, tofu and tempeh aren't neat alternatives, they're just minimally processed protein sources. Tempeh in particular is denser in protein, even less processed and has a strong probiotic impact. They're technically man-made but have been a significant part of Asian diets for two thousand years and are pretty far removed from what we industrially think of as processed in that way. Edamame by itself even is pretty dense in protein. Good on you sticking to whole foods as much as you can though.

@@4000marcdman The ethics of a diet raise important questions. We can both talk about how food culture affects ourselves and others. Strictly speaking anyway the only reason you'd do carnivore over a plant-based diet is because you want to justify your taste preferences. Even if we disregard veganism and look solely at the dietary components of plant-based vs carnivore you're still choosing the least healthy path to the desired result. Ethics, health, art, recreation and community are the five domains of diet.

Blood work. We do have B12 producing bacteria in our digestive systems but for most people they're low enough down for it not to get absorbed. Some people I've heard don't even need B12 supplements though and can absorb it from their microbiome. With anything nutrition though blood work is pretty essential for anybody on any diet. Like 90% of people have some kind of deficiency.

Hey, I want you to run an experiment now that you're healthier. Try eating a decent amount of MSG and see how you feel. Pay attention to how your brain feels after eating it. Your body is now used to a more pristine environment, so you might be able to feel the effect now and let people know that it is actually problematic.

I have.. it doesnt bother me. I stand by my original statement that MSG is a harmless ingredient, no more harmful than table salt. IF you do actually feel something from MSG than you might be someone that is sensitive to it. ITs a small percentage of people that are. Just like I am sensitive to bananas. I cant eat them as they make me incredibly incredibly ill... But that doesnt mean bananas are bad, it just means I am sensitive to them.

0 49...... Carnivore and similar diets are only meant for short term use. It's not suppose to be a life style. The human body needs carbohydrates and fiber and the vitamins from veggies that you can't get from animal products..... Now, the studies that do exist are the ones like high animal product intake to increased risk of colorectal cancer and other forms of cancer.
