But also Peter in 86/87 was getting really into the NY Hardcore scene which was (especially at that time) notorious for skinheads and long hair haters. Didn’t hurt him when he was going to all those Agnostic Front/Murphy’s Law shows in NYC.

When I was like 4 or 5 my uncle gave me a drink of gennesse or however you spell it. It’ sucked. The first time I had alcohol after that was with Peter Steele on the bus after a state college pa show at the crowbar. He gave me a red solo cup of wine. I’ll never forget that night.

Peter proves that you can be one of the 'Greats' playing bass through Peavey amps, along with Danny Lilker. They both ran Peavey amps and Peavey 3620 cabs. I think Pete is playing through Danny's rig in this clip, but years later in Type O, he still ran Peaveys, max rack heads, 810s, and sometimes 4 - 3620 cabs...

At one point, he had decided to become a cop and had cut his hair to go through “ the motions” . He decided not to because band opportunity came around and grew it back, then not cutting it again.
