I am having prpblems with people(mother) saying, "Yeah, but you can't eat like that forever". People are convinced that we HAVE to eat grains and veggies. I just started in June. My IBS has not bothered me, I'm off my bp meds, my hair stopped falling out, I have energy and have lost 33 lbs in 3 months. What amazed me is that my foggy thinking, anxiety and depression vanished. I need to lose 150 lbs and I'm not stopping. The other problem I have is getting enough fatty meats and enough calories because I am satisfied on so much less.

Strength training is most important as we get older. It helps keep the bones strong. I am a 74 year old woman and fell while biking, fell on my left hip; had no broken hip.
@bobstanton7133 жыл бұрын
At 73 I have found what is probably the perfect exercise routine for me. I take my dog for a 2-1/2 mile walk during which I stop at an exercise station and do a set of inverted rows. Back to the walk and down the road I stop and do a set of pushups. Next time around I do the inverted row and pushups again, and then at the end of the walk I do one more set of inverted rows. These two exercises combined with the cardio benefit of the walking are adding muscle...at 73 years old! It takes an hour and it's enjoyable, being out in nature with my dog and getting a good workout at the same time.

The way I explained how I approach exercise to someone not so long ago is that my exercise is for addition, not subtraction. I see soooo many people who treat exercise as a component for weight loss (subtraction), but, as the saying goes, you can't outrun your fork. I lost the weight through diet alone and it wasn't until much later that I started incorporating exercise into my daily life, and I did so because it makes me feel good and brings with it additional health benefits (yep, addition). However, I _never_ view exercise as a way to "burn off calories," which I don't count anyway because I eat real food (thanks to Dr. Cywes for that term for animal products).

I’m 72, haven’t “exercised” for 35+ years. Lost 64 pounds on Carnivore since 10/2020 & just now seeing the value of it. On my first try I pulled my hamstring, bought a mini-trampoline 2 weeks ago, and am determined to add these strategies in this video ASAP. I’ll let you know how it’s going.

@@BQ900 No, you shouldn't do static stretching before a workout, it decreases performance and doesn't protect from injuries. Stretch only after. You should do a warmup though

I'm 71 and have Diabetes, 3 days on the Carnavore Diet and I already feel better. Even though meat is more expensive. When I dump the fruits, veggies, sugar producing carbs, my grocery bill is much smaller. Wish I knew this 40 yrs ago. My first meal was 2 hard boiled eggs and a half pound greasy cheese burger. First time I went 20 hrs without eating and feeling so good. My Glucose hovers between 130 & 150 with only 2 Metformin per day and no insulin. I'm hooked!

What Dr. Baker is saying is true! Weight training helps strengthen the bones too, which helps prevent osteoporosis and bone fractures in the elderly population. Personally I have issues with my energy, but my exercise of choice is bouncing on my mini trampoline! It gives my heart a nice workout and provides resistance on my bones and joints, plus it's fun to do!

That is what I did. Carnivore for 6 mo. then I started WANTING to walk then started going further and faster! But I only started working out in gym after I hit lean body mass and hit my weight goals. Now putting on muscle and weight stable.
@suesimmons9264 жыл бұрын
It seems to me that walking is the single best weight bearing exercise until it becomes too easy. After that find a hill out of traffic and close to home ( if possible) to walk up and down. when that gets too easy add a backpack with more and more bags of sand or salt as time goes on. to get strength in your arms and shoulders carry a small suitcase in one hand and keep trading hands. add books or water bottles to the suitcase as you get stronger. the sky's the limit. my 72 year old husband carries a 55 lb suitcase up and down the small hill in the park across the street from us. he says it is the best full body exercise there is ... hands, forearms, shoulders, traps, core, back, quads, hamstrings, Etc. he started with 30 lb 3 years ago and now Carrie's 80 lb in one hand on level ground for 40 seconds at a time. on the hill with 55 lb he goes for a full hour with small breaks every 5 minutes to do some push-ups. you do not need a gym membership!

Don't get the wrong impression; all you need is a few minutes of high quality weight bearing exercise a few times a week; my husband gets carried away sometimes!

i just LOVE how calm this man is and i LOVE his point on "dont make this reversed veganism" this is not an ideology or a religion, its a tool to fix health-issues. Propably the most flagged elimination-diet, but hey, if it works for you thats great !!! I came here to learn how to fuel a sprint workout without carbs, but i just had to finish this talk though, ty for adding loveable conversation in a quiet manner, no stigma, no taunting of other diets, just... have a nice day !!!

You bet! Start with allowing time to heal. I have been a cubical desk worker for the past 20+ years. With the S.A.D. and struggled to do any of the exercises that I was "supposed" to do. With complete failure!! So now I am healing and feel so much better that I have been FINALLY getting my cluttered and overwhelmed home cleaned up. One spot, one room at a time. That is way more movement that I have done in 20 years. My goal is to get back up on a bicycle again and walk and DANCE!! I love swimming too and that will be next Summer. Thank you Kelly for your interviews.

Love this. I started into low carb/carnivore as an athlete. First go round was rough as an athlete. Not going to lie. I probably should have cut my exercise regime when I started. I was tanking. Back on it and cut my training down, I lift my kettlebells and only do 12- 20 min lifting or less and do 30:30 , 4-6 rounds and that's it. I also added in running which I stopped doing completely when I devoted myself to lifting many years ago and holy s**T, back when I started carnivore my lifting did tank but my running got much better. Well, now back to lifting and since I cut down my lifting to push/pull/combo movements... MUCH better. I love lifting..not for looks but damn, I love lifting more than most men. ;) And I realize it wasn't carnivore that failed me last time , it was that my lifting sessions were way too long and I was overexercising when I didn't need to. Back to loving running again since I now have lots of energy for it...without the carbs. aNd i don't have to run very much at all anymore to get benefits.

Even though I am not a carnivore, I donated to the Carnivore Clinical Trial a couple of weeks ago. I think it is important to do studies to provide evidence that any diet that is not low-fat high-carb can be in fact healthy. In Canada, most dieticians still believe that low-carb, keto, paleo and carnivore diets are bad for heart health. It is obvious that in modern society we eat too many carbs for our own good, but the paradigm has yet to be shifted it seems.

The modern man is insane. You don't need q single study to prove a carnivore diet is the optimal diet for humans throughout our full life cycle. Why? Because there was already a study called human history and it lasted millions of years. We still exist on this earth as a species because of a carnivore diet.
