I feel like the Isle side of KZbin has been lacking in good Carnotaurus gameplay recently. So in this video, I'm going to compensate for that.

@Inkarnate carno never went for larger prey, all carno has is speed and teeth. Tenonto in-game has 4 attacks, which I've both seen and used myself in its entirety to take on carnos with.

@Inkarnate you overhype your marathon runner a bit much there. Carnotaurus charge was also fictionalized so if you want to take horns into factor sure, we can take everything based on what the game does. Carnotaurus has very thin scales and not much armor in terms of scutes, what he has on his neck and back are also fairly small. It's legs aren't entirely good for stomping on an animal and causing severe damage either unless it's something small like the in-game dryo or maybe the future gallimimus. Tenontosaurus is far larger in size and weight than either of those animals, and it's in-game counterpart takes it's real life versions very large (and sturdy) tail and simply weaponized it. It has a much larger amount of armor on a good chunk of it and sure it's head and shoulders look very unprotected, that's kind of the point. It's weakest attacks are in the front as well as it's softest spots. It hits heavy where it's fortified and protected. The tail takes up as much of it's body plan as the torso and head does if not more. At the same time, though, if you're coming at this thing and expect a good player to spam its tail slam until its stamina is gone you're playing yourself. Most of the time I'm using tail slam for the stun factor and immediately going in for headshots with the alt attack to rack up spam damage and 🩸 in a 1v1. Maybe you're just going at every tenonto expecting them to play the same and ending up bodied by a player better than you at the games combat. Maybe you're more readable than you perceive yourself the be. Maybe you're not reading your opponents like you should. Whatever it is, you're not doing yourself a favor by even notioning the idea that a mid tier herbivore should have 0 defense against a mid tier carnivore. I can take on most Tenontosaurus' as carno and vice versa. It's not as easy taking on carno with tenonto either. In fact I'd say it's harder to fight carno than it is to fight tenonto.

Teno is absolutely not too strong. Carno should not be able to easy win 1v1. Its perfect the way it is. If you wanna fight teno as carno it is right on the border of do or die. It comes down to skill. So yeah, he should be able to do so much damage since it cant run away. Probs the best balance isle ever had.

i feel like currently IMO teno is one of the only herbis in the game that you really want to play. dryo and hypsi are just trolls. and stego kills all deinos but gets bodied by all the land dino’s it makes no sense. so it pisses me off when people say you shouldn’t be able to defend against something you can’t run from

@@wyattthetenontosaurus9122 I love teno. It's my favorite dinosaur of the entire Isle roster. Beautiful creature and it was good when it came out, able to stand its ground but not invincible. But it's been reduced to pretty much nothing but a waste of 2 hours. They nerfed it multiple times, shrunk it, extended the growth time (believe me I've timed it XD), and given it horribly below average stats. It's slow and has terrible stam (only a little bit better than stego's). It has really bad stam regen despite it being the type of dinosaur that's going to use A LOT of stam almost constantly (by running, fighting, etc). Very mediocre damage, health, and worse bleed. While yes, it can take on a utah if it knows what it's doing, it can still take quite a few hits to kill one of those rats. But I think the saddest part is that they majorly nerfed its swim speed. Utah being faster than teno in water makes zero sense to me.

I think deinos are fine where they are. They're at their best in water and are still half decent on land. Maybe a buff when apexes come out but I still don't see a major need for one. A deino belongs in water.

i think tenonto is in a really good place. it can hold its ground against big carnivores if it cant run away from them- as the balance should be. and whoever wins with carno vs teno is skill based. the only issue i think is the tail slam spam because they can lock carnos in the same place and beat them til they're dead. i think after getting up from a stagger there should be some sort of tiny window of immunity instead of getting out of the stun only to instantly get stunned again edit: a cooldown to the tail slam would be a good idea too! like how there's a cooldown for carno's charge so they cant spam it or how utahs are punished for missing pounces teno isn't really punished at all for using its most powerful attack aside from the stamina drain

There used to be a cooldown on the tail slam. Due to the cooldown a single Utah could demolish teno since there was an open window for the Utah to bite it and the teno could do nothing against it. Due to a lot of feedback from the community the cooldown got removed

Pretty sure there has always been a stun cd on the tail slam. I can usually get 2-3 slams off before the stunned carno gets away on low hp (unless it was already hurt)

Small tips pesky, Charge the tenonto so even if he slam you, you still get up faster from getting stunned and have like 1-3 second to hit him before he get up and the tenonto have a lower chance to slam you, you are mostly going to stun him and not you

Feel like larger dinosaurs that can’t jump should have something like a large step so if some like a teno is up on a small rock a carno should be able to climb up it using the large step which will just be like the jump but it takes more stam the bigger you are, and shouldn’t be usable while running.

I'm not sure it needs a cool down. You can bait a teno into using it. If they're not thinking, they'll waste all their stam since the tail attack takes a lot. When fighting a teno, just be wary of its tail.

From my experience playing both Carno and Tenonto I think Tenonto is fine as it is, I’ve won fights with them, lost fights with them.. it’s a 50/50 battle of who’s the smartest at playing really. Come across a dumb Carno and you for sure will beat it’s ass, come across a dumb Tenonto and same thing. Also that Stego was the real MVP 🙌
