...and on the spark plugs, make sure you gap the spark plugs correctly( the gap between the center electrode and the ground electrode should have a specific measurement) before installing or even your genuine spark plugs will still contribute to poor fuel economy. There are three main types of spark plugs: - Copper electrode plug ( lasts up to 30,000 km, most commonly used coz it's the cheapest) -Platinum electrode plug ( lasts up to 100,000 km) - Iridium electrode plug ( can last up to 150,000 km) ...... to add to the list too, make sure your catalytic converter is not broken( makelele kama mawe in a debe when you shake your exhaust pipe) and blocking you exhaust, it will ruin your fuel economy, it will also trigger the check engine light. - A bad oxygen sensor is another thing. when the check engine light comes on have it read by computer to see what sensors might be bad in your vehicle. -Incorrect timing of your engine also contributes to bad fuel economy.

Bad wheel alignment. The car will not be rolling freely. One wheel trying to oppose the other also causes uneven tyre wear besides bad fuel economy.

I was wrongly advised that my car had slow knock only to realize later it was just a fan belt mulfunction. However, in the process, I was advised to use Motor honey to stop the noise coming from the Engine, however, it was just the noise coming from the cracked belt. Should I flash the engine oil now that I feel the Engine oil is now more thicker than it should?

My car is smoking alot and does not have power. My mech put it in obd ikaleta error ya Oxygen sensor na vehicle speed sensor. The oxygen sensor was cleaned ikakuwa sawa. You should have highlighted causes of 'low' fuel economy instead of 'bad' to allow you to mention MOST of the common causes that contribute to high fuel consumption - good or bad. eg. driving in constant start stop situations, idling a lot, tiny engines in heavy cars, the 4 wheel drive system, forced induction, loading to near car's max load capacity plus what you've talked about. Then do a follow up in-depth video explaining how they affect fuel economy.

For newly imported vehicles, how does someone know the mileage clocked on the spark plugs?

Check the service history booklet that came with the car if any. It nay indicate date of last service and type of service. The manufacturer guidelines on mileage of the car will also dictate when next service and type of service.is due. Check type of spark plaugs installed ie are they 10km, 30km, iridium type etc. Check whethe plugs are brownish or.blackish sootish and size of gap and pin.. If the latter and worn down replece.Alternatively take the vehicle to the marque dealer eg VW Golf to VW Kenya. They have a global database of service records for the car. Other than that take the safe route....REPLACE
