The generation that came before this was the iconic one. That pickup was the first to feel more like a car, used the suspension of the Prado in the front, etc.

I've driven both the Hilux and the Ranger, and I personally prefer the Hilux. The Ranger is leaning too heavily on unnecessary electronics, which I find unappealing. For instance, I still favor a traditional analog gauge cluster.But I am waiting for the ranger review 😅.

The Ford Ranger XLT and above trims is better in all aspects apart from maybe longterm resale price. The new 2026 hilux maybe more competitive.

Honest question, how important is the 0-100km/hr when you are being overtaken on the highway, or when you want to overtake someone moving at 120km/hr? The point I'm making is, we need to do 80-120 because that's what the users of the cars you review actually interact with daily. 0-100 is useless on the highway
