A wonderful interview indeed! Carol Burnett is one of those rare performers whose life is even more interesting than the characters she plays. I feel such deep affection and respect for her.

I lived one block away from the women’s recovery house that Carol Burnett’s daughter got sober in and that Carol was on the board of directors. I had a sponsor there. Carol was and is a huge supporter of women in recovery.

I adore Carol Burnett and have for as long as I can remember. Growing up in a house of disfunction, like her, it’s funny that there were many occasions when we’d gather by the set on Saturday nights and laugh along with her and the gang on THE CAROL BURNETT SHOW; it was a good feeling even if it lasted a short time. I’ve watched many of her interviews, and after the loss of her daughter she was never quite the same, but how could she be?!? The sadness was there, but thank goodness she held on, carried on for Carrie, her family/friends, and all of us! Carol is the definition of class and legendary ❤️

Give Carol her props. She was brave enough to acknowledge the fact that yes had a daughter who was an Addict. Sadly enough even 19 Years Later alot of Celebrities have Children who are addicts. I told UK Soap Fans about how Celebrities have appeared on Soaps and they were impressed. Sir Ian McKellan appeared on Coronation Street as well as Sarah Harding formerly of Girls Aloud The UK Girlband (1981-2021) who died of Breast Cancer On September 5th. Don't you notice that Comediennes/Comedians have had the most horrific childhoods.

Even the legends have deep sadness in their lives. I know Carol was a dear friend of Beverly Sills. Sills had two children; one was deaf, the other retarded. Somehow she appeared cheerful, same as Carol.

As Mothers we often think we’re supposed to be there for our families in every way. But unfortunately to to that we’d have to have been all seeing all knowing etc. unfortunately that means we try to do God’s job. We know now that is not good. It’s a very familiar tightrope act. Well not everyone attempts to do that. Thank goodness. And again unfortunately. They are very happy to blame that on us too!

I find the interview with Barbara Walters is too much in asking how do you feel when your daughter died? Who in the hell would ask such a question, "it must be painful you AH!" God almighty, I am beginning to resent a lot of these interviewers for lacking in empathy or compassion for those that lost their child.
