I grew up in the 70’s and can remember our family all sitting down to watch her show. We loved it and it left me with very fond memories my entire life. I loved both Harvey and Tim and still enjoy watching clips where they both break from character due to laughter. I also really enjoyed Harvey in movies, like blazing saddles. I don’t think he was given enough credit for his comedic brilliance. Great show and memories.

My little brother used to cry every time Carol Burnett went off the air for the summer. Everyone on that show was terrific. Carol learned how to run a show from Garry Moore, who was a master at it. Sadly for Garry, after he took time off to travel the world with his wife, his career never quite got back on track.

I feel I need to interject something here....first, Carol did not "hate" Harvey Korman. In fact, she loved Harvey! She said so many times. That particular incident between Harvey and Carol happened early on in the series of the show. Things smoothed out quickly after that and Harvey & Carol got along famously for the remaining years of the show. Carol has often said that Harvey Korman was THE solidifying force behind all the comedy and the show would not have been successful without him. I agree. He was THE funniest person of the cast ensemble -- and that includes Tim Conway. Carol recognized that. However, I do applaud her for her integrity and her insistence of maintaining the integrity of the show when she confronted Harvey about his rudeness to guests, etc. Good for her. Harvey Korman was a genius, imo, and he is sorely missed.

I just love Carol so much! Im saddened that you didnt mention Tim Conways passing, or the hilarious DVD comedy series he had called "Dorf on golf". Absolutely hilarious! Nor did you mention how much Tim Conway actually wrote on the Carol Burnett show. Or that the "Gone with the wind" parody they did, where Carol comes down stairs wearing the drapes and saying "I saw it in the window and i had to have it"! That got the longest laugh in the history of the show. You really mentioned very little in the way of the other cast members but its a great video! Thank you

I am sick and tired of people in the entertainment industry who make money by "throwing dirt"around about other people and things because they have no real talent to do anything else. This stupid video does just that. The Carol Burnett show was enjoyable, entertaining and it made people laugh and feel good. It is a happy memory. It was one of the best variety shows ever made by talented people. I read the title and immediately scrolled past without watching. When I see rer-uns of the Carol Burnett Show (they are as enjoyable as seeing it originally..) I want to to be entertained all over again and not thinking about the dirt this video dredged up.

About a hundred years ago - maybe less - I happened upon a little space-filler of an article printed in the entertainment section of our local newspaper, whose headline read: "Carol Burnett says: I hate Alan Alda." The two-line article went on to say "Carol Burnett says, I hate Alan Alda - the Enquirer can print that sucker!" That was it - no further information, no explanation. So I'm putting it out there: Has anyone else heard of this story? If so, can anyone explain the animosity Carol might have had for Alda? I've wondered about this for years. Thanks!

Harvey Korman was a tremendously funny man who worked best in an ensemble setting. He was ideal for the films of Mel Brooks and perhaps those will be what he is most remembered for. BUT he was known to be a true pain to work with and on the Burnett show he threatened to quit nearly every week. His abusive anxiety came from the same place as his comedic skills--there was no separating the two. He had worked for several seasons on The Danny Kaye Show and Kaye was considered the most abusive man in network TV. It couldn't have been pleasant for Korman to be second banana to him. Also, the Kaye show's unspoken rule was that no one could go for a laugh when Danny was onstage. Can you imagine? So why did he hire a comedian? I believe Harvey Korman brought much too much of that tension to the Burnett show. Apparently, everyone in the cast was abundantly aware of Korman's foul moods and were trained to ignore them. When he was on camera, he was comedy gold. Steve Laurence did yeoman's work in Korman's absence on the final season of the show. In addition to the Brooks movies (and a flop sitcom--recall what I said about "ensemble" settings?) he and Tim Conway remained friends and toured with a show of comedy sketches which were most popular. He really was hilarious.
