1. Carole's journey into nursing was inspired by a caring nurse who cared for her as a child and a family friend who was a nurse.

5. Compassion as the essential nursing quality - Carole believes compassion is the most important quality for a nurse, as it enables them to truly engage with and care for their patients.
6. Advice for nurses - Carole encourages new nurses to work hard, be ethical and honest, and to support and mentor other nurses, rather than "eating their young."
7. Importance of work-life balance and self-care for nurses - Carole discusses her own hobbies and activities like dancing, hiking, and birdwatching that help her maintain a healthy work-life balance.
