Very Helpful tips. Could I ask one question and that is: Do you let the sinker hit the bottom or you let the sinker off the sea floor. If it's off the sea floor, then how deep the sinker is from the water surface? Please reply.

i use shrimp and they feel like perch but when u set the hook they run fast one time i thought it was a huge black brum

every time i try to tie to a public structure the coast guard auxiliary tells me to leave. the law they passed a few years ago ruined pylon fishing. i have a honey hole near southport though and have spent some days filling my coolers with these fish. the best bait i have found is fresh clams. the sheepshead loves them. the only down side to fresh clams is keeping them away from pinfish. it is best to sit the bait as close as possible to the pylon, you are fishing, which gives you some protection from the pinfish it seems.

always ask your bait guy for the biggest clams they have, you can get 2 baits out of one big clam. take a clam in each hand, with your fingers back, smash them together and one will break. careful pulling back the broken shell it can still cut you. make sure the point of the hook goes through the muscle part of the clam.
