Hey Everyone, KZbin has been adding a BUNCH of ads on videos. I've been trying to remember to go in and delete most of them. Sometimes I delete them and then they seem to reappear again. So I appreciate your patience! Also a friendly reminder: KZbin ads help me keep providing FREE Videos for all of you. Thank you! ONE MORE THING: I've been using my newer Sony SV1 Camera and Editing on my New Mac (switched from PC), so I'm on a bit of a learning curve and there have been some glitches in videos. I'll be working the kinks out soon. Again, those of you who watch and are KIND, a bug hug of gratitude!

Remember, you can always melt snow. Start with a bit of liquid water in the bottom of your pan so the snow you add melts rather than sublimates into vapor. (Keeps pan from getting damaged, as well.) Bleach can also be used for water care, and it saves using fuel. Water treatment tablets have a reasonable shelf-life. I have a hand-crank water purification gadget coming soon - looking forward to trying it out.

What a wonderful life, I have 3 1/2 years to go before I can full time it on the road. Can't wait to get out there. I bought some land in Northern AZ and am looking at land in central US so I can always have a base point for chillin if places get too crowded in certain times of the year. Are you noticing more people in free camping areas lately?

I’m sorry to hear that Sadie still occasionally gets car sick. As a human who is 66 years old and still gets car sick I can tell you, it is no fun. I have learned that if I drive I don’t get car sick at all. Now I’m not suggesting you let Sadie drive. LOL BUT the fact that she has gotten old enough and settled enough to sit still and look out the windshield may possibly be the secret to how she has overcome (for the most part) her car sickness issue. The two of you make a good team and although I don’t always catch your videos as soon as they come out, I do enjoy binging on them when I can. Happy camping!

WATER SITUATION: Just had a suggestion that is working well for me. I use a 2 gallon Coleman water jug with a spout and found it to be perfect. The spout of course acts like a faucet. I just found it to be easy. I use a 5 gallon also but hardly ever need that big of a container. So it's been mostly the smaller jug. I just store it in the outside RV compartment and use it for handwashing or water ever I would use a spout for. You can have one for drinking and one for washing. You can have hot water if you boil it. The water stays warmer longer if you lay some towels over it to keep it insulated. It can last most the night that way depending of course on where you are and how cold it is.

Is there a place that's not polluted & can u use the snow for water, boiling it? Just wondering if that's possible?🤔 Drainage water? That reminds me I should a water tester kit. Carolyn, how about a travel size Berkey filter system? How much is the service to hv the spot message unit?
@thebandplayedon..61453 жыл бұрын
It takes a small mountain of a snow pile to boil down to any usable amount. Like a larger stockpot packed full of snow will net about a 1/4" of water melted roughly. It's also surprising very slow to melt snow and requires a ton of fuel to do so for what you get, not bad over a fire, but you'd burn thru a propane tank pretty quick.

About Sadie's recall . . . I suspect that she might not always hear your command to come. The problem with the word "come" is that, being just one syllable with a short vowel, it doesn't carry very far outdoors, especially when called by a woman. I taught my dog to come when I called "Yoo Hoo" (in more of a soprano singing voice than a speaking voice) and it worked GREAT. With "Yoo Hoo," the higher pitch of a female voice is actually an advantage. The sound carries quite a long way and is easy for a dog to distinguish from ambient sounds such as wind and rushing water.
