From what I know about brake fluid as longs, as it's not gunky brake fluid oil, should feel like baby oil because it's synthetic, should feel slippery to the fingers, and if you feel any grit in the liquid of your brake fluid take it in and get it checked. When the brake fluid is new, it would have a gold hue, when it gets old can tend to go blackish and can get very gritty. Cute Sadie, it's almost like she looked at you and said, " Ma, can I really play with this lol Sadie is so adorable! Hope you get your issues resolved soon, so you can enjoy the road with nothing to worry about.

Boy I wish you were in Canada with all of your camping references (or I was living in the States). If our borders never open between our 2 countries, maybe I'll have to take over your references and information for the same type of camping spots in Canada. Always LUV your travel videos. I love it when you take us for drives along the roads with you. I just sit back and thoroughly enjoy the scenery. Sadie's face expressions are absolutely priceless! She's such a sweet little character. I'm glad to see that she is doing absolutely fine!

Sadie was toooooo funny!!!!! LOL glad she is all better and that you are feeling better too. We had brakes put on our truck in Flagstaff last year. They changed the rotors because they were too far gone, bled the brakes . Replaced brake fluid, pads etc.. Usually they do pull the wheels off to check. If they are brand new they can also tell by looking. Mostly I believe that they can only see the rotors. Oh, I do have one thing to share with all the friendlies going to Nevada especially Pahrump to become residents. You have to get in line around 4am, yes that is not a typo lol 4am to stand in line or bring camp chairs coffee and phones. They open at 8 am and the first 20 people inline get a ticket with a time on it for that day. The others stood out there for nothing mostly. We had to go twice we missed it by approximately 5 people. The line goes around the building because people are not told by phone or on the websites what to expect. It is because of covid. Then you have to wait for Drivers license in the mail. They do give you a paper one in the meantime. Get you vehicle and RV, trailer, etc... inspected ahead of time. saves a lot of hassle. Make sure insurance is switched over the day before by your insurance company also. I think that is about it. Any questions ask and I will try and help you out. Love to all friendlies and Sadie!

When replacing the brakes the lines do need to be bled but unless you pay extra for a complete brake system flush they simply top-off the master cylinder so the fluid wouldn't be new. You can also check disc brakes without taking the wheel off if the wheel has enough positive offset to view the caliper or by using one of the little extendable mechanic's mirrors. Hopefully, they were fair with you.

I loved seeing your travel in Nevada. I live outside of Wells and travel US93 all the time. Only problem I saw is you called the town of McGill, Wells. My husband and I camp all over in this part of Nevada and yes we go for days without seeing anyone but wild horses, antelope, cows, rabbits, and coyotes. Just remember on those back roads in the desert be prepared, if it rains stay put. Those lake beds turn to slime, fill your tire groves up fast and you will really get stuck bad.

Hey, just wanted to say, it is not necessary to put in new brake fluid when changing out the brake pads and/or rotors. They do need to be bled once put back together. Sometimes, but not always, the fluid should be topped off.
@shirleywolff33943 жыл бұрын
HaHa.......loved Sadie's battle with the bandage!
@rbnhood393 жыл бұрын
When you get new brakes they don’t flush the brake fluid. That’s a whole separate thing. Carolyn if you are doing a lot of off road camping via bumpy dusty dirt roads, that is going to hasten the wear and tear on the suspension. Those light duty chassis really aren’t designed for that sort of use.
@johnhouchins31563 жыл бұрын
Replacing parts unnecessarily is MUCH safer for them than claiming they did it because that removes any evidence from old parts. (Better to steal a little systematically and get away with it than stealing a lot and risking discovery.) Flushing brake fluid is a separate step from replacing brakes. Yes, they do have to bleed them, but that can be done without draining the system completely. They typically just top off the reservoir.

It's true you can see the pads and rotors without removing the tire. They do not change the brake fluid when replacing pads and rotors. The fluid is topped off if needed. The only time they would bleed the brakes is if they replaced a caliper, wheel cylinder, break lines or the master brake cylinder.

Hots springs can start and stop. They can stop for short times or permanently. There are many factors which control the flow of the water - almost none of them can be seen or measured. Off hand for example, mineralization in the fractures zone(underground), water level(from rain and aquifers), earthquakes (both felt and not felt), etc. Hot springs can change locations. Just having the highway between the resort and the springs could make the resort unprofitable.

Sadie is a hoot! She cracks me up. I'm so hoping that you can get your blood work done. That's a challenge of travel and perhaps why so many older people are afraid to get on the road. One of my husband's dreams was to get an rv and check out the places he'd always wanted to go, but now with all his medical issues, it's just not an option. :( So, a big FU to that 'mechanic'. Yeah, publish their name & address all over social media and copy the attorney general of whatever state you were in as well as the Better Business Bureau for their state. I had a problem with a medical bill for some surgery last month. They should have billed my medicare advantage plan but instead called me at 5:45 am, texted me shortly after and then sent me a paper bill the following business day. I said the words AG & BBB and boy, did they change their tune. In California there are very strong protections for seniors and I advised them that I'd copy Liz Warren too. "Ma'am, we are so sorry, please disregard the bill, we will address the payment with your insurance company". Who TF calls people for a bill before 6am on a freaking Saturday? And THEY aren't available until Monday after 8am. This was a robo call wanting my cc #. Instead, they got a couple of earsfull after I looked them up to make sure it was a valid number for the anesthesiologist. She got snotty at first stating that they didn't have my info. I shot back that they sure had my email address, my phone number and my address, and they could only have gotten that info from the same paperwork containing my insurance info. Don't screw with old people especially in a state with protections!!!!!! So I hope your strength and intelligence will scare those jerks into refunding at least part of the $.
@davidstewart1253 жыл бұрын
Carolyn I had to go back to a few videos to comment about the video that they ripped you off. I know how much you have struggled to contain the stupid people that sends attacks to the business that ripped you off. I agree with your opinion about that’s something that can’t happen. It’s wrong in every way. But I want you to consider the option of just justice. They took money from you. I hate people getting ripped off. This company needs to be out of business if that’s what they do. So please stand up for others so they don’t get ripped,off. Don’t condone the crazy’s that threaten people but please stop the people or companies that rip people off. I love your videos

Hi Caroline yes you can look at the rotors and the thickness of the brake pads without taking the wheel off as the rotor would show very little rust or dirt on it also as far as the guy looking up the invoice when I had my business going it didn’t take me long to look up then invoice just type in the month and scroll through or your name and scroll through I got stiffed for a pair of tires I know I need a new tires soon but was going to get them in Arizona instead of this little hicktown out in the middle of nowhere thank the guy walked by my truck and said that my tire was separating and ice as nice as it’s just cupping and I’m getting new ones when I get to Arizona shortly after that a trooper pulled in and was looking out my tire and said that I would have to get new tires before I leave that town I think they’re in cahoots together anyway bought new tires they were about $165 more for the pair than if I had a bought them in Lake Havasu so I know how you feel I am a mechanic myself retired at a truck driver retiredSo I hope you’re OK and don’t have that valley fever I know when I’m down there in the wind and the dust kicks up by where I dusk mask and I haven’t watch the video to the end yet but I will I hope Sadie is OK I don’t really know what happened to her but I’ll see you at the end take care be happy and travel safe
