Every time I put my baits out using my baitboat I always pour water over the spools that's always worked for me without any bird nests

Hey mate, sorry to here about the skin cancer diagnosis, hope they have caught it early and hope you have a speedy recovery. Regarding the line clip using the paint brush and peg, Ridgemonkey already do one called the Line Control Arm, priced at £12.99, looks handy, clips on the back of your spool and has a sponge finger facing to the front of the spool which stops your line falling off uncontrolled😉
